Texans vs. Titans Point Spread: NFL Week 18 Odds, Prediction

Already assured of a first-place finish atop the AFC South standings, the Titans are coming off back-to-back losses to Kansas City and Baltimore and have fallen to defeat in three of their past five road dates. The Titans enter their season finale riding a five-game win streak and can strengthen their chances of claiming the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft with a fourth straight defeat on home turf.

With the Texans already locked in as the No. 4 seed in the AFC and expected to rest many of their starters, the Titans have emerged as 1.5-point home favourites on the NFL Week 18 odds. Houston lags as a +100 underdog on the NFL moneyline and the total is pegged at just 37.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Titans recorded a 32-27 win when they visited Houston back in Week 12 in what also proved to be the team’s most recent victory. With the win, the Titans snapped a three-game head-to-head losing streak but have lost three straight to the Texans on home turf while averaging just 14.3 points per game.

Overall, the Titans have scored more than 16 points just once in their past five dates with Houston and have seen the UNDER pay out in totals betting in five of their past seven meetings. However, the Texans have not fared much better on offence, averaging just 20.2 points per game over their past five clashes with Tennessee.

While the Texans have clinched a second straight divisional title, they have turned in mixed results in the second half of the season, winning just four of their past 10 games. With three of those victories coming by a single score, the Texans have gone just 3-5-1 against the spread over their past nine games and have covered just once in four road games.

The Titans have also been a terrible bet, failing to cover in each of their five recent losses and going just 1-6 straight up and winless ATS at home this season.

Houston Texans

While head coach DeMeco Ryans has stated that his starters will see action in Sunday’s matchup at Nissan Stadium, with nothing to play for except halting a losing streak, it is tough to expect many of them to finish the contest. That is particularly true on defence, with defenders Folorunso Fatukasi and Denico Autry both missing practice this week due to injury and getting joined in the clinic by cornerbacks Derek Stingley Jr. and Jeff Okudah.

Quarterback Davis Mills is likely to see some action in relief of starter CJ Stroud. The high-priced backup has yet to make a start this season and has made just two total pass attempts since seeing limited action in the team’s 34-7 loss to Minnesota in Week 3.

Tennessee Titans

After seeing veteran journeyman Mason Rudolph take over the starter’s reins for the past two games, Will Levis is expected to see action in Sunday’s season finale. Rudolph has produced mixed results since taking over under centre three weeks ago, completing 75.3 per cent of pass attempts for five touchdowns but has also tossed three picks. Levis failed to find the end zone in his past two outings, capped by a three-interception outing three weeks ago versus Cincinnati and has connected for just two scores against five picks in his past four home appearances.

The Titans are also dealing with a rash of injuries that have sidelined rushers Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears, receiver Tyler Boyd, and tight end Chig Okonkwo at practice this week. Even against the Texans B-team, it could be yet another long day for the Titans on Sunday.
