The Houston Texans are no longer the owners of the longest straight up winning streak in the NFL. Houston’s nine-game unbeaten run came to an end over the weekend after it failed to win as 4-point home chalk against Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts.
It was Houston’s first loss since Week 3, but the club is still just 6-7 against the spread so far this season. The Under has been the most profitable way to bet on the Texans this year. The Under is 8-5 in their 13 regular season games.
The Jets are coming off their first win since Week 6. The cellar dwellers of the AFC East division are 4-9 straight up and 5-8 against the spread this year. The Over is 7-3 in their last 10 games and 8-5 on the campaign.
Sports Interaction opened with the Texans listed as 6.5-point favourites. That’s the most amount of points Houston has been favoured in an away game since December 2014 when they were 6.5-point chalk at Jacksonville. The Texans are 5-2 ATS as road faves since the beginning of the 2014 season.

The new problem is the same as the old one for the Houston Texans. The offensive line has been a problem with this NFL franchise for years, and while it’s true the unit played better for parts of the nine-game win streak, it never became a strength of the team.
The Colts sacked elusive QB DeShaun Watson five times and they prevented Houston from gaining positive yards on all six of its runs on first down.
New York Jets
The Jets weren’t the only bad team to come out victorious in Week 14. Both the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers won which means the Jets remain one game back of both clubs for the worst record in the NFL. There’s isn’t a consensus first overall pick in this year’s NFL draft, according to the experts, and the Jets already have their quarterback of the future in Sam Darnold.
It’s still worth considering for NYJ backers in case the team values its upcoming first round draft pick more than meaningless wins in December.
