Super Bowl 59 Odds and Best Bet: 49ers, Chiefs open as Super Bowl 59 favourites
The NFL season is over, but we’re already looking ahead to next season with the odds for Super Bowl 59. The San Francisco 49ers are the early favourites to win in 2025, while the Kansas City Chiefs sport the next best odds to be the first three-peat champion in NFL history.
Let’s take a look at the Super Bowl 59 betting odds.
Super Bowl 59 odds
Early odds favour a rematch in Super Bowl 59, with San Francisco exacting revenge for their overtime loss to the Chiefs in Super Bowl 58. The Niners’ will return a strong offence led by Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel and George Kittle.
If San Francisco wins it all next year, it would buck a couple of recent trends as eight of the 12 Super Bowls have been won by AFC teams while 13 of the last 16 Super Bowl winning quarterbacks have been at least 27-years-old. The 49ers are obviously an NFC team and Purdy, who will be the presumed starting QB if the 49ers reach the Super Bowl next year, turns 25 on December 27.
The Chiefs begin the off-season with the second-shortest Super Bowl 59 odds and any questions over this team being a certified dynasty have been firmly answered. Kansas City has won eight straight AFC West titles, they’ve made six straight appearances in the AFC Championship Game and they’ve reached the Super Bowl in four of the last five years, winning three times.
Core Chiefs players and personnel like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Andy Reid will all return and the team is expected to make some significant upgrades in free agency.
Super Bowl 59 best bet
The Chiefs and Niners deserve to be favoured to win Super Bowl 59, but it’s a long season and every team is one injury away from the year being a wash. That’s why I like the value of the New York Jets at +3000. Ironically, the Jets are a perfect example of an injury ending a team’s season as New York was out of things four snaps into last season when Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles.
Rodgers will be fully healthy by September and he’s saved himself a full season of wear-and-tear on his body. Rodgers has elite offensive weapons surrounding him in players like Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall, and I think Jets management could still add to the roster as they should be all-in this year in what could be Rodgers’ swan song.
Let’s also not forget New York had the third-ranked total defence and second-ranked passing defence in the NFL last season. If the defence continues to produce and Rodgers and the offensive line stay healthy, the Jets are a bargain at +3000 to win Super Bowl 59.
