Lambeau Field has served as major home field advantage for the green and yellow as they’ve taken 15 of their last 17 home games.
In Pittsburgh, a rough narrative about 39-year-old quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is starting to gain steam. Out in Green Bay, the legacy of 37-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers continues to grow. The veteran pivots meet one another out in Wisconsin on Sunday.
For Roethlisberger, his play is holding the Steelers back this season. And as proven last Sunday night, if you give Aaron Rodgers even 37 seconds of time while trailing by less than a field goal — you left him too much time.
Sunday’s Steelers–Packers bout starts at 4:25 p.m. EST.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Lambeau Field has served as major home field for the green and yellow as they’ve taken 15 of their last 17 home games. The Packers covered in their lone home game this season too.
Not only is Pittsburgh losing football games, they’re failing to cover spreads. The Steelers are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 and 1-2 this season with each of their three games going under. The last three Steelers–Packers games have gone over the total, but with Pittsburgh’s offence sitting at 25th in yards per pass attempt… points may be hard to come by for the visiting team.
Sunday’s line has Green Bay as seven-point home favourites and the total at 45.5. As of Thursday, 90 per cent of Sports Interaction bettors have the Pack to cover.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Last Sunday Roethlisberger threw the ball 58 times and completed a game-high 14 passes to running back Najee Harris. The rookie running back got 28 touches in Week 3 for 142 yards, but aside from he and sophomore receiver Chase Claypool no Steeler had over 33 yards of offence.
Pittsburgh’s 16.7 points per game ranks 28th through three weeks and a lot has to do with Big Ben having his lowest passer rating (in a full season) since 2006.
The Steelers are hopeful receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster (ribs) and Diontae Johnson (knee) and star outside linebacker T.J. Watt (groin) can all play Sunday. Watt didn’t play in Week 3 and his absence was felt the most with Pittsburgh not registering a quarterback sack without him.
Green Bay Packers
Green Bay’s 30-28 win on Sunday Night Football showed the league they’re still a contender. Rodgers played lights out and threw for 261 yards, two scores, and zero interceptions while finding Davante Adams for a game-high 12 receptions for 132 yards and a score. Adams is fourth in the NFL with 309 receiving yards, while running back Aaron Jones is tied for the NFL lead with five touchdowns.
Regarding injury news, offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins (ankle), receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring), and Kevin King (concussion) all missed practice Wednesday. Their statuses will be determined closer to kickoff, so be sure to monitor Green Bay’s injury report.
