A rematch of last season’s AFC divisional round playoff game sees two teams come into this contest going in polar opposite directions. The Pittsburgh Steelers seek to avenge that post-season upset and add to Jacksonville’s misery in 2018.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Sports Interaction opened this game with the Jaguars getting 5 points on their home field, but the line is creeping toward a touchdown spread. The total opened at 47.5 and is staying put there for the time being.

The Steelers come into this matchup on the back of a five-game winning streak. They sit atop the AFC North at 6-2-1 straight up and only the New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs have covered more games against the spread than the Steelers’ six.

Pittsburgh is the fourth-highest scoring team in the NFL at 31 points per game and the Over is 6-3 in the club’s six contests on the campaign.

The Jaguars stumble into this matchup on the heels of picking up their fifth consecutive defeat. Jacksonville can make a claim to being the biggest disappointment this season. A year after playing the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game, the Jags are a longshot to make the playoffs. They are dead last in the AFC South at 3-6 and they’re just 3-5-1 ATS.

About 75 percent of Sports Interaction customers are backing the Steelers to cover as 6-point road favourites, while 93 percent expect the game to go Over the 47.5-point total.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Le’Veon Bell’s time with the Pittsburgh Steelers appears to be over. The deadline for the franchise tag came and passed this week meaning Bell will not suit up for the Steelers in 2018. The two-time All-Pro was a training camp holdout but most team insiders felt he’d return to the club at some point during the early weeks of the season.

He didn’t, but the emergence of second year tailback James Conner lessen the blow to Pittsburgh backers. Conner has 771 rushing yards with 10 touchdowns this season but he’s questionable to play this weekend as he recovers from a concussion suffered in Week 10.

Jacksonville Jaguars

There are plenty of reasons for the Jaguars’ dramatic downward spiral, but the turnovers is the statistic that pops off the page. Jacksonville finished with the second most takeaways in 2017 with 33 in 16 regular season games. The club ended the campaign tied for the fifth best turnover margin at +10. But in 2018, the Jags have just eight takeaways and have turned the ball over 19 times.
