Steelers vs. Browns Point Spread: NFL Week 11 Odds, Prediction
Cleveland announced Wednesday that Watson will undergo season-ending surgery on a broken bone in his throwing shoulder. Watson’s coming off one of best performances as Brown too, knocking off Baltimore 33-31 in a comeback win.
With Cleveland’s upset victory they’re now tied at 6-3 with Pittsburgh for second in the AFC North. Pittsburgh’s won four of their last five outings behind some stellar defensive performances, but now clash with another one of the league’s top defences in Cleveland.
Kickoff at Cleveland Browns Stadium goes at 1 p.m. EST with Cleveland down to a -120 moneyline favourite on home field, and the total down at 32 on the NFL odds.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Under bettors galore: the under is 3-0 in Pittsburgh’s three road games this season and 4-0-1 in Cleveland’s five home games. Seven of these teams last 10 battles in Cleveland have finished under the total, as well as all five of Pittsburgh’s last five meetings with a divisional opponent. Seven of the last Browns home games have went under, dating back to last season.
And with Dorian Thompson-Robinson set to start his second NFL game against Kenny Pickett and the Steelers’ 26th-ranked scoring offence, oddsmakers have attempted to set this total as low as possible as it continues to creep down to 30 total points.
Head-to-head, Pittsburgh is both 4-1 outright and ATS in their last five meetings with Cleveland including a 26-22 victory back in Week 2 in Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Another week, another win for Pittsburgh in which they held their opponent to under 20 points. When Pittsburgh’s opponent scores under 20 points, the Steelers are 5-0. When Pittsburgh’s opponents does reach 20 points, the Steelers are 1-3. The larger problem that’s loomed over the Steelers season is their offensive production, but they keep striking some gold with their run game.
Jaylen Warren led the Steelers in rushing for the third straight week and his 101 rushing yards last Sunday counted for just under half of Pittsburgh’s 205 total rushing yards. Both Warren and Najee Harris ran for over 80 yards and a touchdown in the 23-19 win over Green Bay. Pounding the rock with this duo seems to be the Steelers best chance at producing on offence.
Cleveland Browns
Rolling with Dorian Thompson-Robinson, and not veteran P.J. Walker is a bold call for the Browns given Thompson-Robinson’s first start this season: 36 passes for 121 yards, zero touchdowns, and three interceptions. P.J. Walker is 2-1 this season when playing the majority of the game, with a win over San Francisco as the highlight.
The probable thought process for head coach Kevin Stefanski is Walker has thrown caused too many turnovers, and with Cleveland’s run-first offence led by Kareem Hunt and Jerome Ford, the rookie (Thompson-Robinson) won’t be asked to do a ton beside get the ball to his playmakers. Regardless, Cleveland’s needing to rely on their league-leading defence (242 yards allowed per game) to shut the door and give the youngster a shot to win on offence.
