The Steelers are facing a Broncos team that is coming off their biggest win of the year in Los Angeles last Sunday. Their last second field goal moved them up to 3-7 on the season and actually gave them an outside shot at an AFC wild card berth. Pittsburgh could be in for a long mile high afternoon in Week 12.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Pittsburgh Steelers are -4.5 point favourites in this game, which seems a little light. This is the same Steelers crew that just dismantled the Carolina Panthers in Week 10 and are on a six-game winning tear.
The Broncos, meanwhile, should see some action on the bet boards in this one. They’re 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and five on grass.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Thankfully, with all of the Le’Veon Bell chatter put to bed, the Steelers can now solely focus on the task at hand without any outside distractions. They enter this game with the fourth highest passing yards per game average and are also the fifth highest scoring offense in the league. Their front side will be quite the tall task for the Broncos to handle.
Back on defence, Pittsburgh isn’t slouching either. The Steelers are currently tied for fourth in the league in least yards allowed per attempt with 5.0 per snap. The Steelers defence is also seventh best in passing yards allowed per game and eighth best in rush yards allowed.
Denver Broncos
The Broncos, on paper, will not have an easy day in front of them. The good news for the horsemen is that, “a good defence is a good offence” and “good” is as far as we’ll go with the praise. They’re ninth in the league in sacks and are 14th best in the league in points per game allowed.
To win this game, they’ll have to have their D clicking on all cylinders. Last week, Jacksonville made life very difficult for Pittsburgh and almost took them out. The Steelers stormed back from a 16-points down to win it in the final minute, but it’s as close as they’ve come in a long time to snapping their beloved win streak. If Denver can get to Big Ben early and often and Keenum is on the Case, they’ve got a decent shot at home this weekend.
