Seattle Seahawks NFL Predictions: 2019 Season Betting Odds and Preview
The Seahawks finished in 2nd place in the AFC West Division during the 2018 season which is exactly where they landed in 2017, bettering their 9-7-0 by only one extra win (10-6-0) in 2018.
Offensive and defensive coordinators, Brian Schottenheimer and Ken Norton, were new to the coaching staff last year, and they’re still looking to make their impact on this team as they try to unstick themselves from the curse of second place. Both their points for and against moved in the right direction, but it wasn’t enough push them up the rankings.
Their Wild Card game to the playoffs last season was incredibly close, with only 2 points between the Seahawks and their chance for a playoff run.
Russell Wilson will be the starter and will be backed up by Geno Smith and Paxton Lynch. Russell had his best season last year, throwing 35 touchdown passes, finishing with a 110.9 passer rating overall. He completed 3,448 passing yards and finished with a 65.6% completion rate. Despite this, he dropped from number 11 on the NFL Networks Top 100 Players list to number 25 this year.
Seattle Seahawks Acquisitions and Moves
DK Metcalf is generating a lot of buzz at the training camps so far, at 6’4”, 230lbs, this 21 year old rookie from Ole Miss can run the 40 yard dash in just 4.33 seconds. Quoted as being a potential “red zone nightmare for any defender,” Pete Carroll is excited for what this young wide receiver can bring to the Seahawks table.
Receiver Daniel Williams has been waived, despite only just being signed before training camp. First round pick DE L.J. Collier has experienced some ankle injuries during practice and training camps, making his rookie appearance questionable.
The Seahawks traded DE Frank Clark to the Chiefs for a 2019 first and third-round picks and 2020 second-round pick.
The biggest news from the Seattle bench was the release of Doug Baldwin and Kam Chancellor, two very popular players who helped lead the team to a Super Bowl title. The contracts of Chancellor and Baldwin were terminated due to failed physical designations.

Seattle Seahawks NFL Betting Odds
The oddsmakers at Sports Interaction are leaning more towards Seattle missing the postseason, currently pricing them at -175. The Seahawks are also obvious longshots to win a Super Bowl this season and are listed at +2800. That means a small $20 bet on Russell Wilson and company could pay up $580 if the team manages a miracle. Stranger things have happened.
Seattle Seahawks Season Prediction
Bobby Wagner put up 138 tackles last season, and he will be looking to top that record as he acts as the driving force behind Seahawks defensive line. The Seahawks are ranked number 1 defensively because of Wagner’s presence, and together with Russell Williams maturity and experience, they hope to better last year’s efforts. Hope won’t be enough to get them higher than 9-7, as far as we’re concerned.
