Seahawks vs. Ravens Point Spread: NFL Week 9 Odds, Prediction
The Ravens are coming off a 31-24 win in Arizona last weekend, and have averaged 31 points per game during their current surge, but face some significant injury concerns heading into the weekend. The Seahawks travel to M&T Bank Stadium on a 2-0 run after escaping with a 24-20 victory over the pesky Cleveland Browns, but have fallen to defeat in three of four visits to Baltimore since 1984.
The Ravens lead the way as 5.5-point home favourites on the NFL Week 9 odds. The Seahawks are listed as +200 moneyline underdogs, and the total is pegged at 44.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Ravens have emerged as a reliable bet this season, covering in six of their first eight outings, and claiming victory by an average margin of over 15 points in their six outright wins. However, they have produced mixed results at home, winning just two of four so far this season, and failing to reach 20 points in six of their past nine regular season home dates. The Seahawks have largely built their 5-2 straight up record on a stout defence. Seattle has limited opponents to just 12.5 points per game during a 3-1 run, and have seen the UNDER pay out in eight of 11 regular season contests.
Seattle Seahawks
There’s a lot on the line for the Seahawks, who’ll be looking to pull even in wins with the NFC West-leading San Francisco 49ers with a victory this weekend. Winners in five of their past six, the Seahawks have steadily overcome some injury issues, including DK Metcalf’s steady return to health from a recent hip injury. While Metcalf’s return provides quarterback Geno Smith with another qualify downfield option, the 25-year-old still has work to do to regain his form after making just five catches on 14 targets last weekend, and pulling in 9-of-23 over his past two appearances. Tyler Lockett has filled the void, and has averaged 71 receiving yards and made one scoring catch over the past three games. However, a hamstring injury forced him to skip Wednesday practice, and casts doubt on his availability for Sunday.
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens could face some injury concerns heading into Sunday’s auction. Several key players were absent from Wednesday practice due to injury including receiver Odell Beckham Jr., rusher Gus Edwards, and offensive linemen Ronnie Stanley and Morgan Moses. The absence of Edwards represents a significant blow considering his recent performance. Edwards is coming off a sensational 80-yard three-touchdown performance in last weekend’s victory in the desert, but is reportedly bothered by a toe injury. Downfield, tight end Mark Andrews is also coming off a big game in Arizona, where he made four catches for 40 yards and one score, and has now made three scoring catches in his past two outings.
