Seahawks vs. Jaguars Point Spread: NFL Week 6 Odds, Prediction

Two teams trending upwards meet at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville on Sunday at 1 pm ET, as the 4-1 Jaguars host the 3-2 Seattle Seahawks.

Seattle dropped a thriller at home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, 38-35. Sam Darnold continued to impress, completing 28 of 34 passes for 341 yards and four touchdowns. He did throw one interception, with 58 seconds left, that led to a game-winning field goal by Tampa.

The Jaguars matched last season’s win total after just five games with a last-minute win of their own, 31-28 at home over the Kansas City Chiefs. The Jags are tied for first in the AFC South with the Indianapolis Colts, while the Seahawks are tied for second in the NFC West.

Jacksonville is a slim 1-point favourite to win on the NFL odds, with a total of 47.5.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Seattle is 3-2 against the spread, and 2-0 straight up and ATS on the road, continuing a trend from last year where the Seahawks went 3-6 SU at home and 7-1 on the road. They have won eight straight away from home, and they are also 5-2 ATS in their last seven games versus the Jags.

Jacksonville is 4-1 against the spread, including 3-0 ATS at home. The team has won four straight at EverBank Stadium.

Darnold is listed at +110 to throw more than 1.5 touchdown passes, something he has now done in three of the past four games. Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence is listed at -150 to throw fewer than 1.5 touchdown passes. He has only thrown two total over the past three games.

Seattle Seahawks

Despite the late pick, the early returns suggest the Seahawks made the right call to trade away quarterback Geno Smith and bring in Darnold. Smith has six touchdowns and a league-worst nine interceptions, while Darnold has completed 73.1 per cent of his passes for 1,246 yards and nine touchdowns against three picks.

Seattle’s defence is currently in disarray thanks to injuries. DeMarcus Larence, Devon Witherspoon, and Julian Love missed last week. Derrick Hall, while Riq Woolen were then injured in the game. As a unit, the Seahawks entered last third in the NFL in points allowed and were torched for 379 yards passing and 38 points.

Jacksonville Jaguars

The resurgent Jags still haven’t gotten the best from Lawrence, who is completing just 60.4 per cent of his passes and has six touchdown passes to five interceptions. Even his winning one-yard touchdown run against the Chiefs was goofy, as he fell twice before rebounding for the score.

He loses one of his security blankets for the near future as well, as tight end Benton Strange was placed on IR. Strange leads the team with 20 catches and is second with 204 yards. Johnny Mundt and Hunter Long will move up on the depth chart, and Lawrence needs to utilize receivers Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter Jr. more as well.

NFL Prediction: Who Will Win Seahawks vs. Jaguars?

These teams played in two of the best games last week, and this matchup will be one of the top contests this weekend. Jacksonville has been perfect at home, but Seattle looks like a different team on the road.

Look for Darnold to find Jaxon Smith-Njigba, second in the NFL with 534 yards receiving, early and often as Seattle covers the one-point spread as underdogs in a 31-27 victory.
