Seahawks vs. Cowboys Point Spread: NFL Week 13 Odds, Prediction

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Dallas plays on Thanksgiving every year, but the NFL also schedules the Cowboys for a Thursday night game each year to satisfy its partner Amazon so it can show America’s Team once, and that’s why Dallas often plays on Thanksgiving and then the following Thursday as well. It works out well because then the Cowboys at least get the full week off in between, which in this case is the same for Seattle as it hosted San Francisco on Thanksgiving night, the Seahawks’ first game on the holiday since 2014.

This will mark the second time the Seahawks have played two Thursday games in one season, having also done so in 2014 when as the defending Super Bowl champions they hosted the annual NFL Kickoff Game on a Thursday and then played on Thanksgiving, also against San Francisco.

No doubt this game will be important in the NFC wild card race because I expect neither team to win its division title just like as happened last year: Seattle is likely to finish second in the NFC West to the 49ers, and Dallas should finish second in the NFC East behind Philadelphia again.

Including playoffs, Dallas leads all-time 11-10. They haven’t played since 2020, a 38-31 Seahawks home victory.

Seattle Seahawks

Seattle lost for the third time in four games on Thanksgiving night, 31-13 at home to San Francisco – which gave the 49ers a two-game lead atop the NFC West and obviously an early tiebreaker, although they still play once more. I don’t expect the Seahawks to win the division but they could easily be a wild card team again and they hold down the NFC’s final playoff spot currently. No. 1 running back Kenneth Walker was out injured Thursday and is questionable. Rookie Zach Charbonnet rushed 14 times for 47 yards and had four catches for 11 yards as the featured back. QB Geno Smith completed 18-of-27 passes for 180 yards and an interception. He was iffy due to an elbow injury and took six sacks. Seattle has gone seven straight quarters without an offensive TD and has just three over the past four games. Smith recently backed offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, who has come under fire during Seattle’s recent scoring lull.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys have looked like the NFL’s best team at home this season and that continued in a 45-10 rout of Washington on Thanksgiving, the 13th straight home win for Dallas. Dak Prescott had 331 yards passing and four TDs. Cornerback Daron Bland set an NFL record with his fifth interception return for a touchdown this season. Bland had been tied with Eric Allen (1993), Jim Kearney (1972) and Ken Houston (1971) for the record, and he now has more defensive touchdowns than any other team this season. The Cowboys tied a 55-year-old franchise record in 2023 with a seventh victory by at least 20 points – five at home. Only the 2007 New England Patriots, who were unbeaten in the regular season, had more 20-point wins (eight) in the first 11 games of a season in the Super Bowl era. Dallas leads the NFL in scoring offence (31.5 ppg) and scoring differential (+162). This is the first of five straight games vs. teams who currently have .500 or better records.
