Seahawks vs. Bengals Point Spread: NFL Week 6 Odds, Prediction
The Seahawks enjoyed an early bye last week after rolling to an easy 24-3 road win over the New York Giants in Week 4, and have scored an impressive 32.7 points per game during their current 3-0 run. The Bengals return home in the wake of their best performance so far this season in last week’s 34-20 win in Arizona. The Bengals have now won two of three since opening the season with consecutive losses to divisional rivals, and except for Tee Higgins, they appear to have overcome the injury woes that plagued them in the early going of the campaign.
The Bengals are pegged as 2.5-point favourites on the NFL Week 6 odds. The Seahawks lag as +125 moneyline underdogs, and the total in Sunday’s contest is listed at 45.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Sunday afternoon’s matchup at Paycor Stadium is the first meeting between these teams since 2019 and the Seahawks’ first visit to Cincinnati in eight years. Cincinnati has claimed victory in three of five sates with the Seahawks, including a pair of narrow 27-24 victories on home turf. Despite seeing four of their past five head-to-head dates with Seattle get settled by three or fewer points, the Bengals have amassed a reliable 3-0-2 ATS record over that stretch.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks will be hoping that last week’s bye will not impact the momentum they have built up during an impressive 3-0 run. However, the Seahawks have struggled in recent years coming out of a bye week, falling to defeat and failing to cover in three straight. However, the break should help this team overcome some recent injury concerns. Quarterback Geno Smith was hobbled by a knee injury that forced him to briefly leave the team’s win over the Giants. However, Smith has been a full participant at practice this week, and is expected to be under centre for Sunday’s contest. Things aren’t so certain for DK Metcalf. The Seahawks receiver has been battling a rib injury, and dis not participate in Wednesday practice, leaving his status for Sunday uncertain. Metcalf has enjoyed a steady start to the season, making a pair of scoring catches while averaging 67 yards per game and topping 100 yards once.
Cincinnati Bengals
The big news in Cincinnati is Joe Burrows’ steady return to health. After struggling through a calf injury, the Bengals quarterback was finally taken off the injury report last week before tossing for a season-high 317 yards and three touchdowns in the Bengals’ victory in Arizona. With Smokin’ Joe returning to form, his favorite target Ja’Marr Chase also enjoyed a big day in the desert, making 15 catches for 192 yards and three scores. Overall, the Bengals defence limited the Cardinals to just 294 yards in under 22 minutes of possession while forcing three turnovers. That marks a huge about-face after getting embarrassed in a 27-3 loss in Tennessee two weeks ago. However, the Bengals now face the challenge of producing another fast start after storming to an early 10-0 lead last week, and halting a dismal trend that saw them score just three total points in first-quarter action over their first four games.
