Saints vs. Dolphins Point Spread: NFL Week 13 Odds, Prediction

Miami, which has won two straight while attempting to salvage a lost season, hosts the bumbling Saints on Sunday at 1 pm ET.

New Orleans failed to muster an offensive touchdown in last week’s 24-10 setback to the Atlanta Falcons. The ‘Aints aren’t just bad; they’re bad and boring. And they lost Alvin Kamara, the team’s only dynamic offensive piece, to an MCL strain last week.

The Dolphins, meanwhile, are playing with and for pride after a horrific 1-7 start. Miami is coming off a bye week after defeating the Washington Commanders in overtime in Madrid two weeks ago.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

New Orleans is 2-3 against the spread on the road and 1-5 ATS in its last six games overall. The Saints, who are averaging a league-worst 15 points per game, have cashed the Under in each of their past seven contests. Miami is 4-2 against the spread at home and 6-3 ATS in its previous nine games overall. The Dolphins have played to the Under four times in the past five games.

Running back De’Von Achane has surpassed 100 yards in each of the past two games for Miami. He had 120 yards on 21 carries against Washington and is currently listed at -110 to rush for Over 80.5 yards against New Orleans.

New Orleans Saints

Last week’s loss was a microcosm of the Saints’ offensive ineptitude. Blake Grupe missed two field goals inside 50 yards and has since been released. The team totalled three points after being on Atlanta’s 1-yard line twice, and Kamara exited the game late in the first quarter with an MCL injury.

Quarterback Tyler Shough led the team with 22 yards rushing. He completed 30 passes for 243 yards and zero touchdowns, was sacked five times, and turned it over twice. The defence is still battling and is a top-10 unit against the pass, but this is certainly brown bag over-the-head days again in the Crescent City.

Miami Dolphins

With coach Mike McDaniel’s job on the line, the Dolphins have responded with two consecutive standout defensive performances, holding both the Buffalo Bills and the Commanders to just 13 points each.

Tua Tagovailoa is tied for the NFL lead with 13 interceptions, although he had none in Madrid. He has thrown two or more picks in a game four times this season. The Rams’ Matthew Stafford has two interceptions all season.

The Dolphins are relying more and more on Achane, who has rushed for 294 yards and two touchdowns while posting his top-two rushing attempt totals in the past two games. Miami is now 3-0 when Achane has 20+ rushing attempts.

NFL Prediction: Who Will Win Saints vs. Dolphins?

The Saints stink, and the Dolphins aren’t much better. However, Miami’s biggest weakness, its 29th-ranked rush defence, most likely won’t get exploited on Sunday, especially if Kamara can’t play. Devin Neal, who has rushed 17 times for 61 yards this season, is listed second on the depth chart. Audric Estime, a castoff from the Denver Broncos who has not appeared in a game this season, is third.

This won’t be a high-scoring affair, and Miami should cover the six-point spread as favourites. Take the Dolphins to win, 24-13.
