Saints vs. 49ers Point Spread: NFL Week 12 Odds, Prediction
It’s a short week for the San Francisco 49ers as they look to stay atop the NFC West Division when they host the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. The Niners are 8.5-point favourites on the NFL odds.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
San Francisco is 6-4 and tied with surprising Seattle for first in the NFC West. The Niners are going to make the playoffs and if I had to pick the NFC representative in Super Bowl 57, it would be them over the likes of 9-1 Philadelphia and 8-2 Minnesota. The Saints are third in the NFC South at 4-7 and most likely will not be a playoff team.
These teams last met Week 10 of the 2020 season in New Orleans and the Saints won 27-13. Alvin Kamara rushed for two scores and caught a TD pass from Drew Brees. Jameis Winston also saw time under centre. The Niners were forced to use Nick Mullens at quarterback due to injury, and he wasn’t very good with two picks. Neither team reached even 285 yards of offence.
The road team is 5-1 against the spread in the past six meetings. The over is 7-2-1 in the past 10.
New Orleans Saints
Coach Dennis Allen considered benching quarterback Andy Dalton for Week 11 in place of former starter Jameis Winston, but the Saints beat the Rams 27-20 so Dalton should remain the guy this week as he was 21-for-25 for 260 yards and three scores. Rookie of the Year candidate Chris Olave caught five balls for 102 yards and a score. Jarvis Landry caught his first touchdown pass as a Saint when Dalton found him over the middle from 7 yards to put the Saints in front for good at 17-14 early in the third quarter. New Orleans played without injured defensive ends Cameron Jordan and Marcus Davenport then lost another, Payton Turner, during the game. The Saints are 0-4 ATS in their past four after a win.
San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco played in Mexico on Monday night to close Week 11 and blasted the Arizona Cardinals 38-10 for a third straight win. Jimmy Garoppolo threw four touchdown passes, including two each to Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle. It was just the third time in the past two seasons Jimmy G had 100-plus passing yards and at least two touchdown tosses in the first half. The team also rushed for 159 yards and a score. Defensive end Arik Armstead missed a sixth straight game due to injury and is in question here. San Francisco plays five of its final seven games at Levi’s Stadium and none outside the Pacific time zone. The Niners are 6-2 ATS in their past eight at home.
