Washington vs. Panthers Point Spread: NFL Predictions Week 13 Odds

It’s a battle between two rookie quarterbacks at Bank of America Stadium as the Carolina Panthers host Washington as big favourites. While Washington QB Dwayne Haskins is coming off his first career win, that victory left a lot to be desired and Carolina signal-caller Kyle Allen has lost four of his last five.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

NFL bettors aren’t scared of the big 10-point spread that favours the Panthers in this one with nearly 85 percent of early wagers backing the home team to cover. It’s uncharted territory for this Carolina club, which has been favoured by more than 3.5 points just once this season. Washington is coming off a 19-16 win at Detroit as a 4-point underdog, but this offence has been absolutely terrible. The last time Washington cracked the 20-point plateau was way back in Week 2.

Washington Redskins

Haskins is taking heat for missing the last snap of the club’s win over Detroit to take a selfie with a fan – as well he should. Nothing should surprise Washington supporters at this point, though. This team ranks dead last in total offence, passing offence and points scored per game. The defence isn’t a whole lot better, either, ranking 22nd overall, and 28th in rushing yards. Just about the only positive you can take from this Washington club has been betting the under. Seven of the club’s last eight games have checked in below their posted totals.

Carolina Panthers

Things may have looked a lot different this week if Carolina kicker Joey Slye didn’t miss a couple of extra points and a 28-yard field goal attempt with less than two minutes left in New Orleans. Those misses spoiled a great effort from Allen and may have dropped the Panthers out of the playoff race for good. Allen completed 23 of his 36 attempts for 256 yards and three touchdowns to bounce back after a four-interception day in Week 11. As usual, expect the Panthers to lean heavily and Christian McCaffrey, who leads the league with 1123 rushing yards and 16 total touchdowns. If nothing else, he’s worth the price of admission.
