At the start of this 2017 season, there was a lot of promise, with both the Giants and Redskins expected to compete, if not win the NFC East division. Well, fast forward 17 weeks and the promises have been broken, the Giants have won two games total and the Redskins are hoping to hit the .500 mark on the last regular season date of the season.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

These two franchises are no strangers to one another. The Giants hold the all-time edge over the Redskins at 99-68-4. Back on November 23 of this season, the Redskins doubled up on the Giants 20-10 at FedEx Field, and have won three out of the last four games head to head. However, over the course of the last six games at Met Life Stadium, the Giants hold the edge winning four games, and losing two. A couple of factors that favor the Redskins in this tilt include that Washington is 12-5 ATS against teams with losing records, while the Giants are 2-7 ATS in their last nine home games against teams with losing road records.

Washington Redskins

The Redskins are coming off a 27-11 win over the Broncos this past Sunday, are now 7-8 on the season (7-8 ATS) and have won two straight games entering this game. The Redskins defence, ranked 21st (345.7) held the Giants offence to just ten points in November, and during their two game winning streak, have only allowed 26 points total. That win against the Giants was their lone divisional win of the season (1-4). Quarterback Kirk Cousins leads a Redskins offence that is ranked 15th in the league (333.5) and averages 22.1 points per game, which is tied for 14th overall.

New York Giants

The Giants and their fan base are thankful that this is the last game of what has been a truly epic fail of a 2017 season. With a record of 2-13 (6-9 ATS) and currently riding a five game losing streak, there will be major changes in the off season to this organization. Entering this game, the Giants are 0-5 within the NFC East division, and 0-11 in the NFC conference. Last week in Arizona they were shut out for a second time this season. Surprisingly, the offence is ranked 23rd (309.8) in the NFL, and not surprising, the team is ranked 29th in league rushing (85.9), and 31st (15.2) in points scored. The defence, which was a strong point to the 2016 year has really taken a turn for the worst, this season ranked 32nd (384.9).
