There could be a quarterback controversy brewing in Baltimore – but not this weekend. Jackson has showed plenty of explosiveness on the ground, and should be able to put his passing ability on display against one of the worst pass defences in football.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Falcons are ever-so-slight favourites for this one despite coming in on a three-game losing streak, their second of the year. And while the first was the result of some truly awful defence, this latest slide can be attributed to the fact that they’ve failed to score 20 points in any of their past three games. Neither team has been a good cover option, with Atlanta 1-4 ATS in its last five home games and Baltimore covering just once in its past five games overall.

With Mercedes-Benz Stadium having seen its share of track meets in recent years, it should come as no surprise that the total for this one is hovering just south of 50. The Ravens, a perennial under play, have gone below the total five times in their past seven games against teams with losing records. The Falcons are 11-4 to the under in their last 15 vs. teams above .500 but have gone over 17 times in their previous 25 home games.

Baltimore Ravens

While Jackson is in good position to pad his passing totals vs. an Atlanta defence that has allowed 25 touchdowns through the air, it will be tempting for him to show off his wheels in this one. Jackson owns the NFL record for most rushing yards by a quarterback through his first two NFL starts (191), and will almost certainly add to that tally with the Falcons having allowed a whopping 5.1 yards per carry and 13 rushing scores so far this season.

Atlanta Falcons

After playing three of their previous four games away from Atlanta, a return home should do wonders for the Falcons – particularly where their red-zone prowess is concerned. The Falcons boast one of the biggest home-road gaps in the league in red-zone touchdown rate, scoring on 82.4 percent of their trips inside the opponents’ 20-yard line at home (second in the league) compared to just 49.2 percent on the road (25th).
