Ravens vs. Browns Point Spread: NFL Week 5 Odds, Prediction

The Browns look to bounce back from a wild loss in Oakland last week as they take on the visiting Baltimore Ravens in an NFC North battle Sunday afternoon. Cleveland looked to be on the verge of a pivotal road victory before squandering a late lead and falling 45-42 to the Raiders in overtime.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

It’s back to being a home underdog for the Browns, who are getting a field goal against the Ravens. They would love nothing more than to reverse an ugly trend that has seen them go just 5-15 ATS in their last 20 games as a home underdog. The Ravens come in with a cover trend they’d also like to reverse; having gone 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 as a road fave. But two of those three covers have come at the expense of the Browns.

It might seem unusual to see a game between the historically stout Ravens and perpetually struggling Browns to carry a total of 47 – but after Cleveland and Oakland combined to hang a 90-spot on the scoreboard last week, perhaps it’s not so surprising, after all. That said, the Browns have been a sensational Under option while getting points at home, having gone below the total 11 times in their last 13 games in that scenario.

Baltimore Ravens

Based on recent history, Sunday’s Ravens team total of 25.5 is right in the sweet spot of what bettors should expect. Baltimore has scored 27, 24, 28 and 25 points, respectively, in its last four games vs. Cleveland. The Ravens have also scored 23, 27 and 26 points over their past three games overall. Sunday’s visit to Ohio is the second of three consecutive road games for the Ravens, who have gone an impressive 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 away from Baltimore.

Cleveland Browns

Baker Mayfield’s first career NFL start was interesting, to say the least. The No. 1 pick in this year’s draft threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns, but also had a pair of interceptions while fumbling twice. That bodes poorly for Mayfield and the rest of the Browns’ offence, as they square off against a Ravens defence that ranks eighth in the NFL in interceptions (four) and has limited opposing QBs to the fifth-fewest yards in the league (773).
