Rams vs. Falcons Point Spread: MNF Week 17 Odds, Prediction

Last week’s loss at Seattle dropped the Rams into a tie for the top Wild-Card spot in the NFC, but they now sit in sixth in the NFC due to tiebreaker scenarios. But by kickoff on Monday, the Rams could reclaim first in the NFC if they get some help.

The 6-9 Falcons are out from playoff contention but have rattled off two consecutive wins, most recently coming out on top 26-19 at Arizona last Sunday. Veteran QB Kirk Cousins has started the last five games for Atlanta and has a 3-2 record.

Kickoff at Mercedes-Benz Stadium gets going at 8:15 p.m. EST, with the Rams -8 on the point spread and the over-under at 49.5 on the NFL odds.

Monday Night Football Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Despite last week’s loss to Seattle, the Rams remain Super Bowl favourites at +425 odds. Los Angeles will likely be playing on the road in the playoffs for at least the Wild-Card weekend against either the NFC South winner or the NFC East-winning Philadelphia Eagles. Matthew Stafford also remains the favourite to win MVP at -210 odds. Stafford is one of four Rams to make the NFC Pro Bowl roster, while the Falcons had two players make the list.

The Falcons are just 2-4 on home field this season, last winning on October 13 versus Buffalo. Atlanta’s covered in just two of their last seven home games as well. The Rams are a covering machine on the road, going 12-2 ATS in their last 14 road outings. Head-to-head, Atlanta’s had a big advantage with wins in five of their last seven against the Rams. The Falcons are also 5-1 ATS in their last six against L.A., and 8-1 straight up in their last nine Monday nighters.

Los Angeles Rams

While the Rams will still likely be without the NFL’s receiving touchdown leader Davante Adams again this weekend due to his hamstring injury, this L.A. offence proved they can still move the ball just fine. The Rams finished with 581 yards of offence and no turnovers in their epic 38-37 overtime loss at Seattle. Puka Nacua completely took over the target share of Adams, as Nacua finished with 12 catches for 225 yards and two scores in the loss. Nacua leads the NFL with 114 receptions and is second in yards with 1,592.

Right guard Kevin Dotson exited last week’s game with an ankle injury and it will be hard for Doston to suit up on Monday, according to head coach Sean McVay. Other than Dotson and Adams, the Rams are quite healthy. And as we witnessed last week, there’s still plenty of firepower on this offence to put up big numbers.

Atlanta Falcons

With 92 yards receiving and 76 yards rushing last week, Bijan Robinson became the first Falcons player since 1998 to record 2,000 yards from scrimmage. Robinson’s usage through the air has heavily increased this season as he’s right on pace to double his previous receiving high set back in his rookie season in 2023. Kirk Cousins has relied on Robinson’s dual usage as he’s recorded 15 catches over the last two weeks. The same holds true for tight end Kyle Pitts Sr., who is closing in on a 1,000-yard season. Pitts has 395 yards over the last month and 854 this season.

Receiver Drake London returned to the Falcons offence last week too but recorded just three catches for 27 yards. Atlanta’s going to field the same, healthy offence against the Rams this weekend which will be a huge test for this surging Falcons unit. On defence, starting cornerback Mike Hughes will likely be out again according to head coach Raheem Morris.
