The Los Angeles Rams have caught a lot of people off guard this season after seemingly falling apart last year. After their win on Monday Night Football, they are now 5-2 with one of the top records in the NFC East. Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins sit at 3-3 and enter on a two-game winning streak. However, they have decided to switch things up a bit, as they have announced rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa as the starter for this matchup. Will the rookie live up to the hype?

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Rams are 5-1 in their last six as a road favorite of 3.5 to seven points. However, they are just 3-3 ATS in those games. They have failed to cover four of their last five November contests and are just 13-22 in their last 35 against AFC teams.

As for the Dolphins, they are just 13-12 in their last 25 after a bye but are 14-8-3 against the spread. They are 12-7 against the spread in their last 19 home against.

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams have shown flashes of their Super Bowl potential but have also shown their inconsistency. They entered Monday Night Football ranking 23rd in the league in total offense and will have to improve upon that number. They have developed a solid three-man committee at the running back position that has proved to be useful for this offense, guaranteeing that they will always have a fresh back in the game on any offensive play. But it has been their defense that has really caused issues for other teams. They rank third in the league in points allowed per game and just held the Bears to 10. With players like Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey and John Johnson shining, this unit is doing a great job of pressuring opposing quarterbacks forcing them to throw into tight windows. They have another plus matchup against a rookie, who will be making his first-ever NFL start.

Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins are currently sitting at 3-3 on the year and have won their last two games. They are coming off of their bye week where they made a big change. Ryan Fitzpatrick was benched in favor of rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. He was able to get a few reps in during their 24-0 victory against the New York Jets. We’re not exactly sure what he’s going to look like as there was no preseason action, so this will be his first extended experience.

The offense had been humming under Fitzpatrick – especially the passing game. There are weapons in DeVante Parker, Preston Williams and Mike Geseicki. The offensive line has been decent too as they’ve allowed just 10 sacks on the season, which is the ninth-best mark. If they give Tua time to throw and he’s ready – like the coaching staff says – they could make a game of this.
