Raiders vs. Jets Point Spread: NFL Predictions, Week 12 Odds
Considering how poorly these two teams played at the beginning of the season, it’s hard to
believe that the Raiders and Jets both enter this game at Met Life Stadium on multiple game
winning streaks.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
These two teams have met five times since the 2011 season with the Raiders winning three of
those games. The Raiders are 4-1 against the spread in their last five meetings with the Jets,
but the home team in this series is 8-2-1 in the last 11 games.
The Jets have not played well against the conference as of late going 1-6-1 ATS in their last
eight games against them.
Of note, the over is an impressive 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams. But the
under is 3-1-1 in the last five games when it’s been played in New York.
Oakland Raiders
After starting off the season 3-4 through the first seven games, the Raiders have rattled off three
straight wins entering this game with the Jets. In all three games, all were decided by seven
points or less. With six games remaining (including this one with the Jets) the Raiders control
their own playoff destiny.
Running back Josh Jacobs has been a great story for the Raiders this season. Through week
11, the 21 year-old is just 77 yards away from hitting the 1000 yard plateau. He is ranked fourth
in the NFL in that category and proving to be an excellent selection by the Raiders in this past
NFL draft (24 th overall).
Maxx Crosby has been an enormous surprise on the Raiders defence this season. The former
fourth round pick (2019) recorded four sacks and four tackles against the Bengals last week and
was all over the field. He will garner Defensive Rookie of the Year consideration if he finishes
strong the remainder of the regular season.
New York Jets
Don’t look now but the New York Jets are on a two-game winning streak. Gang green
dominated Washington this past Sunday and for the second consecutive week scored 34 points
in a game. They also got a number of key individual efforts.
The team’s run defence, which is currently ranked first in the NFL and have put together back to
back masterpieces against the Giants and Redskins. In the last two weeks, they have held
Saquon Barkley and Adrian Peterson to just 26 yards on 10 carries combined. This week will be
a test facing Josh Jacobs on the opposite side of the field.
Sam Darnold is starting to show signs of understanding the offence. In back to back games he’s
gone 19-of-30 passing. He also tossed four touchdown passes against Washington. A favourite
target of Darnold’s as of late has been Tight End Ryan Griffin. Griffin was supposed to just be
the replacement for Chris Herndon, but has taken over the role. Last week he caught five
passes for 109 yards and a touchdown.
