The dynamic duo of Derek Carr and Darren Waller hope to continue building on their chemistry when they lead the 6-4 Las Vegas Raiders into Atlanta on Sunday to face the 3-7 Falcons.

Battling COVID-19 fines and positive tests all season, the Raiders are looking to get back into the win column after a tough divisional loss, last week.  The Raiders are 3-point favourites on the NFL odds with a total of 55.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Raiders have been putting up big points in most game this season and have gone 4-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last four games overall.  The over is 4-0 in Las Vegas’ last four games after giving up at least 350 total yards in the previous game.

Atlanta has clearly struggled this year and the under is 4-0 in their last four games as a home underdog.  The Falcons are 5-1 ATS in their last six games after giving up at least 350 total yards in the pervious game.

Las Vegas Raiders

Derek Carr has been the difference maker for the Raiders, this year.  Carr has thrown for 19 TDs and just three interceptions, with his favourite target being Darren Waller.  Carr has targeted Waller 42 times more than any other Raiders player.  Waller picked up 88 receiving yards and a touchdown in Las Vegas’ 35-31 Week 11 home loss to Kansas City, while Nelson Agholor picked up an identical 88 receiving yards and one touchdown.  Carr threw for 275 yards and three TDs in the game.

The Raiders pass defence struggled against Kansas City, last week.  Las Vegas allowed 352 passing yards and two TDs to the only team ahead of them in the AFC West, the Chiefs.  The Raiders won’t catch Kansas City, but outside of the Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers, the AFC is wide open.  Las Vegas has an opportunity to do some damage in the playoffs this year, but in a conference this tight, they need to start stringing some wins together.

Atlanta Falcons

Outside of three field goals last week, against the Saints, the Falcons offence was abysmal.  Quarterback Matt Ryan threw for 232 yards with two interceptions and no TDs.  Ryan has been inconsistent this season, but he is dominant when things are clicking.  Atlanta’s pass offence is actually second in yards per game with 280.6 and their 7.7 yards per attempt is Top-10 in the league.

The Falcons defence prevented Taysom Hill from throwing a single touchdown, last week, but he threw for 233 yards and averaged 10.1 yards per attempt.  Atlanta gives up a monstrous 300.3 passing yards per game, something you can’t do when your team has such an unpredictable offence.  Facing a Raiders team that is better than their 6-4 record would suggest, the Falcons will need to find a solution to stop Derek Carr and the Las Vegas offence.
