Patriots vs. Eagles Point Spread: NFL Predictions, Week 11 Odds

The Philadelphia Eagles are 5-4 this season and must now play host to the 8-1 New England Patriots for Week 11’s 4:25 p.m. game in Philly. The last time these two met? Super Bowl LII, where the Eagles made history to win their first Lombardi Trophy and stun the Patriots with a 41-33 victory.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Almost no other team is as effective at getting a win after taking a loss, and since 2016 season, New England is 8-2 in that scenario, and they’re coming off a loss to the Ravens. The Pats are 7-3 ATS in those kind of games. New England is 6-3 against the spread this season.

The Philadelphia Eagles are 2-2 against teams with winning records, and only fair slightly better against clubs with losing records, going 3-2 with them.

Both of these teams are coming off of a bye. That kind of rest has given Philadelphia a 14-4 record in games right after the bye since 2001. Also 14-4 after being off for the week? The Patriots. But their record starts in 2010.

New England Patriots

The New England Patriots have just one game over the Ravens for the top spot in the AFC playoff race. They come into this one having had a week of rest, which means that Bill Belichick and company have been preparing for this game against the Eagles for a couple of weeks. Also on the Patriots’ side is the thirst for revenge that they’ll have against the team that prevented Tom Brady from claiming his sixth Super Bowl ring that year. To be fair, Brady got his precious sixth ring the very next year.

“You assume I’m over it? Come on now,” Brady said on a radio show on Monday morning. “That’s a lot of mental scar tissue from that year. That was a tough game.”

Before their bye, the Patriots had their perfect season record shattered by the Baltimore Ravens, who beat the Pats by a score of 37-20. The Patriots defense could not solve Lamar Jackson, who threw for 163 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 61 yards and two touchdowns.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are coming to the party also having been rested on their bye week and having won two in a row before that, most recently a 22-14 home win over the Chicago Bears. They’ll need every possible advantage to try and get a win against the Patriots, and are priced as +3.5 point home underdogs to do it.

The team was busy during their bye, and brought back Jordan Matthews for the third time to replace an injured DeSean Jackson. They also signed right guard Brandon Brooks to a four-year contract extension.

When it comes to facing elite defenses, Carson Wentz averages just 201 passing yards, one touchdown and four sacks in a game. Not great news for Eagles fans who’ll watch Wentz try to get by one of the league’s best defenses this season, who’ve held quarterbacks they face to a 45.8 passer rating.
