Christian McCaffrey, Panthers, 2019

Don’t be surprised if Christian McCaffrey is the leader when Sports Interaction re-opens its NFL MVP odds. The Panthers running back is the only reason this club is still in the playoff hunt five weeks into the season.

A crucial NFC South Week 6 matchup has NFL bettors thinking long and hard about the 47-point total. The Christian McCaffrey-led Panthers have scored 34 or more points twice during their three-game winning streak, while Chris Goodwin and the Buccaneers are just two weeks removed from putting up 55 points against the Los Angeles Rams.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Carolina is 3-0 straight up and against the spread in its last three contests. The Panthers find themselves in second place in the NFC South and a game behind the 4-1 New Orleans Saints. Sports Interaction is pricing the Panthers at +378 ($100 wager wins you $378) to win the division.

The club is coming off a 34-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars as a 3-point home favourite. The Panthers are 1-5 against the spread in their last six games against teams with losing records.

Tampa Bay is 2-3 on the season and coming off a 31-24 setback to the Saints as a 3-point road underdog. The Bucs are just 2-3 against the spread so far this season, but they already have two outright wins as 6-point or larger underdogs.

There is quite a bit of activity with this line. SIA opened with the Bucs as 2-point home chalk. The line flipped pretty quickly and the Panthers are now 2-point faves heading into midweek. About 63 percent of Sports Interaction bettors are backing Carolina to cover as 2-point favourites.

The Over/Under line is moving around as well. It opened as low as 46, moved as high as 48.5, and has since dropped back to 47. Nearly 75 percent of SIA customers expect this game to go Over the 47-point total.

Carolina Panthers

Don’t be surprised if Christian McCaffrey is the leader when Sports Interaction re-opens its NFL MVP odds. The Panthers running back is the only reason this club is still in the playoff hunt five weeks into the season.

He’s coming off a three-touchdown and 237-yard performance against the Jaguars and he’s on pace to topple Chris Johnson’s 10-year record for most yards from scrimmage in a season. Don’t be surprised if the Bucs sellout defending McCaffrey on Sunday.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The buzzards are no longer circling around quarterback Jameis Winston thanks to the breakout season of Chris Goodwin. The third year receiver out of Penn State leads in the NFL in receiving touchdowns with six and he’s third in receiving yards with 511 on 43 targets. Goodwin’s production is offsetting the slow start of former Pro Bowl wideout Mike Evans.
