Report: Panthers starting RB Chuba Hubbard ruled out vs. Dolphins
Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard remains officially questionable for Week 5 with a calf injury, but a report from Ian Rapoport indicates he will miss Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins.
The NFL Week 5 odds board has the visiting Dolphins set as 1.5-point favourites in Carolina.
Hubbard, who was born in Edmonton, Alberta, has started all four games for the Panthers this season and has 53 carries for 217 rushing yards, an average of 4.1 yards per carry. He has also been a factor in the passing game, with 13 receptions on 17 targets for 94 yards and two receiving touchdowns. Hubbard has accumulated 311 total yards from scrimmage on 66 touches.
He signed a four-year, $33.2 million contract with the Panthers last November and then went on to rush for 1195 yards with 10 touchdowns.
With Hubbard sidelined, expect a busy day from Rico Dowdle. He has 83 yards on 28 carries and one rushing touchdown this season.
