Minnesota and Green Bay are both playing great football. The Vikings won their eighth straight game, 27-24 in Seattle last week, while the Packers shut out New Orleans 34-0 for their fourth win in their last five games.

Green Bay is a slim one-point favourite on the NFL odds, with the total set at 48.5.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

These teams have an incredibly tight head-to-head history, splitting the last several season series’. Minnesota came out on top in Week 4 this season, winning 31-29 at Lambeau Field. After taking a 28-point lead in the game, the Vikings barely hung on while being outscored 22-3 in the fourth quarter.

In addition to Minnesota’s eight-game win streak, they are a solid 7-1 at home this season. The Pack have been very comfortable on the road, however, winning four of their last five away dates.

Both teams have been solid cover options, with the Vikings going 9-6 against the spread and Green Bay going 10-4-1 ATS. The edge likely goes to Minnesota, who have covered in six of eight home games.

The Under has played in a majority of games for each team in 2024, but there’s reason to believe points could be the play on Sunday. In addition to the Over hitting in seven of the last 10 head-to-heads, the Packers have scored 30-plus points in each of their last five games and the Vikings have scored 27-plus in four of five.

Green Bay Packers

Jordan Love has been on fire over the last few weeks, ranking first in yards per attempt, second in total QBR and and seventh in CPOE (completion percentage over expected) over that span. As good as Love has been, you have to give Green Bay’s defence their flowers after recording the first NFL shutout this season, which was also the Packers’ largest margin of victory in 10 years. Green Bay’s defence has no real weak point, ranking within the top-10 of the NFL in total yards allowed, passing yards allowed, rushing yards allowed and points allowed per game.

Minnesota Vikings

Sam Darnold and Justin Jefferson had a monster connection last week. Darnold finished with 246 passing yards and three TDs, while Jefferson had 144 receiving yards and found the end zone twice. That connection has given Minnesota something to play for in the dying weeks of the regular season. Currently sitting at 13-2, if the Vikings can win their final two games against Green Bay and Detroit, they will claim top seed in the conference and a first-round bye.
