Packers vs. Steelers Point Spread: NFL Week 10 Odds, Prediction

Green Bay breathed a sigh of relief in Week 9 with a relatively easy home contest against the Los Angeles Rams, winning 20-3. The Steelers have been idle since last Thursday night, giving them a semi-bye week to prepare for this match. They downed the Tennessee Titans 20-16.
The NFL odds like Pittsburgh to win this one, albeit not by much. The black and gold are favoured by 3.5 points.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Meetings between these franchises don’t happen as often as some might think given how storied both are. To that point, when considering the past five encounters, one of them includes Super Bowl XLV, back when quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger ruled the NFL.
Since then Green Bay and Pittsburgh have tussled but three times, with the latter winning twice, although the most recent one went to the Pack in 2021.
The story of the Packers’ attempts to cover the spread in 2023 is a flustering one. Their record is 4-4, which is middling, but consider that they failed to cover underdog spreads of plus 2.5, 2, 1, and 1. Even those they handled were tight (plus 1, 3, 1). The under has won the day in four consecutive games.
Pittsburgh is slightly better ATS this season at 5-3. Their trajectory has been more straightforward, with outright wins translating to covers and vice versa. To their credit, the Steelers have had to toy with mostly tight spreads as well, with none larger than plus 4.5.
Green Bay Packers
A lot of people will point to the fact that in Week 9 the Packers’ defence got to strut its stuff versus Rams QB Brett Rypien, playing for an injured Matthew Stafford. Nevertheless, the Packers needed a lifeline for their entire season and they got it with a 20-3 victory.
Green Bay’s defence did most of the heavy lifting, as could have been expected. L.A. was limited to less than 200 yards of total net offence. They only earned one sack and four QB hits, but the pressure sufficed to put the young signal-caller out of sorts. Jordan Love played one of his best games of the season, going 20-for-26, 228 yards and a touchdown toss to Luke Musgrave that involved two fakes and a pirouette. If those numbers don’t look amazing, that’s the kind of season it’s been so far for Love and the offence. Control the ball and you control the match, and 184 total yards on the ground did just that. Aaron Jones, Emanuel Wilson, and AJ Dillon were all productive in their own ways.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers were privy to Titans newbie gunslinger Will Levis after the rookie had his coming out party the week before. The young stud had a decent night, but the Steelers proved to be too much and won 20-16.
Truth be told, Levis looked better than Steelers QB Kenny Pickett. Then again, the Pittsburgh air attack has had the same knack all season long: not accomplish much for three quarters but go ballistic with time winding down. It happened yet again in Week 9 as Picket found Diontae Johnson in the end zone with only four minutes left on the clock and their side trailing 16-13 at the time. Thankfully the Steel Curtain defence is doing its job, because all too often on the offensive side of the ball, this team looks too dysfunctional for observers to have much faith in them. If it isn’t a Pickett to George Pickens connection, not much is going on. But is the NFC North we’re talking about. An old-fashioned blue-collar quartet of teams and the Steelers are winning games much like they always have.
