The Green Bay Packers return from their bye week to face the only unbeaten team in the NFL as huge underdogs.
The Los Angeles Rams put their perfect 7-0 season record on the line this weekend when they welcome Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in a matchup with the highest Over/Under line on the Week 8 board.

The oddsmakers have the Packers as 9.5-point underdogs against the Rams this weekend. This isn’t something Green Bay fans are accustomed to seeing. This is the largest underdog tag the Packers have held in a game with a healthy Aaron Rodgers since he took the reins under centre for the franchise back in 2008.
Green Bay has been a public team since Rodgers became one of – if not the – best quarterbacks in the NFL. But there isn’t a bigger public team in the league right now than the LA Rams. Los Angeles has been at least a 7-point favourite in each of its last six games.
The Rams aren’t covering these large spreads. The NFC West leaders are just 1-3 against the spread in their last four games. They are coming off a 39-10 win over the San Francisco 49ers and they still own the best point differential in the NFL this season at +107.
LA remains the favourite to win the Super Bowl at Sports Interaction at +300.
Green Bay Packers
The Cheeseheads are coming off a bye but they snuck by the Niners in Week 6. The three-point victory wasn’t good enough for the club to cover as 9-point home favourites. Outside of a Week 4 shutout of the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay has not looked like its a Super Bowl contender.
Head coach Mike McCarthy is taking slack for his play calling – particularly his decision to limit carries for second year running back Aaron Jones. He’s averaging 5.9 yards per carry but he’s only had 15 rushing attempts in his last two games.
Los Angeles Rams
There is plenty of credit to be shared in LA for the Rams 7-0 start to the campaign. Sean McVay is now considered second only to Bill Belichick in head coach power rankings and quarterback Jared Goff is playing so well it’s getting harder and harder to remember how terrible he was in his rookie season three years ago.
Of course Todd Gurley is the straw that stirs the drink for the Rams. The All-Pro running back is flirting with a 30-touchdown season and he’s already scored more points than the Buffalo Bills, and, even better, he’s scored more points himself than eight NFL teams.
