The Green Bay Packers aren’t going to the playoffs in large part because of their inability to win games away from Lambeau Field. Their last chance to pick up a road win is this weekend when they travel to the East Coast to play the New York Jets.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Cheeseheads are coming off a 24-17 loss to the Chicago Bears as 5.5-point road underdogs. Green Bay stands at 5-8-1 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) with just two weeks of the season left. The Packers are 0-3-1 ATS in their last four away games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games overall.

New York lost at home to the Houston Texans in Week 15 but the team looked good for the most part. The Jets lost 29-22 but pushed on the spread. The result pushes Gang Green to 2-6 SU in their last eight games. The over has been one of the more productive ways to bet on NYJ games this season. The Jets have played over the total in nine of 14 games.

Sports Interaction opened with Aaron Rodgers’ club favoured by 3 points with an extra 10 cents of juice (-3, -120). The spread is holding steady at the field goal mark but the vigorish has dropped 5 cents to -115 to back the Packers at -3.

The over/under opened at 45 and has moved up a point and a half to 46.5. The Under is 6-2 in the Packers’ last eight games.

About 71 percent of bettors are backing the Packers to cover as 3-point favourites while 67 percent expect the game to play over the 46.5-point total

Green Bay Packers

It wasn’t that long ago Aaron Rodgers was being talked about as possibly the most talented quarterback in NFL history. He threw for 40 touchdowns and more than 4400 yards two years ago in a season he didn’t even drum up a lot of MVP talk because that was the level bettors expected from No. 12.

But the last two seasons haven’t been as easy. He missed more than half of the 2017 campaign due to injury and he’s on pace to finish with the sixth worst pass completion rate of qualified QBs this year.

He’s only thrown two interceptions and he’s going to this seventh Pro Bowl next month. Still, the Packers are 18th in offensive touchdowns per game (2.4) and they’re averaging just 23.7 points per game.

New York Jets

Sam Darnold looked good for the Jets in Week 15. The rookie QB threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns against the Houston Texans. It was just the third time in 11 starts he’d played a game without throwing a pick.
