The Pack hit the road again this Sunday to take on the Giants at MetLife Stadium. Green Bay is now 8-3 on the season while the Giants are just 2-9 and are coming off a 19-14 loss to the 5-6 Chicago Bears for their seventh straight loss.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Historically, the Packers have the edge here, having gone 28-23-2 against the New York Giants in the regular season. Green Bay has won two straight over the Giants, and are road favorites currently priced at -6.5.

A loss to the Packers on Sunday will mean that in the last full year, the Giants have only won once at home. They are 1-6 against the spread in their last seven at home.

The Giants’ problems are legion, but the defense has been particularly bad and the team sits at 27th the league for total defense and 29th for scoring defense. Every team they’ve played, save two, have scored at least 27 points against them. Which quarterbacks failed to breach the 27-point mark? Mitch Trubisky and Case Keenum .

Green Bay Packers

If it wasn’t THE worst game of his career, last Sunday’s humiliating loss to the 49ers was definitely in Aaron Rodgers‘ top three list of terrible performances.

Rodgers was held to 104 yards passing as he led the Packers to a 37-8 loss at the hands of Jimmy Garoppolo and the San Francisco 49ers. After the game, even Rodgers couldn’t pinpoint exactly what had gone so terribly wrong for him and his team, who had come into the game with and 8-2 record.

“There wasn’t a whole lot positive tonight,” Rodgers said. “A lot of the stuff we talked about during the week, eliminating negative yardage plays, obviously we didn’t do that. They got after us up front, and the coverage was good on the back end.”

The Packer defense, which started the season looking unstoppable, has exposed itself as just mediocre. That said, Preston Smith and Za’Darius Smith have a combined 20.5 sacks, which will be in the forefront of Giants’ quarterback Daniel Jones’ mind, as he has been sacked the third most times in the NFL, with 33.

New York Giants

There’s very little to feel positive about for Giants fans this season, as their team has now lost seven in a row, bringing them to a 2-9 record. There may have been reason to hope at first, as their rookie quarterback showed flashes at the start of the season as the right heir apparent to Eli Manning. So far, Daniel Jones has 18 turnovers, including seven lost fumbles in the Giants’ last five.

Their last loss was to the Bears, in a 19-14 loss which saw Jones throwing two touchdown passes but also saw him suffer his tenth fumble. The young QB leads the league in fumbles. The Packers defense will jump on this weakness, as the Green and Gold are ninth in the league for takeaways.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley had a high ankle sprain early on in the year, and since then has been less-than-stellar. In that game against the Bears, Barkley only gained 59 yards on 17 rushes.
