The Jordan Love era in Green Bay is off to a great start after he led the Packers to a 38-20 win over NFC North rival Chicago in Week 1. The Falcons also kicked their season off with a win as they downed Carolina 24-10 at home.

Atlanta is a 1.5-point favourite to win on the NFL odds, while the total sits at 40.0.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

These teams are an even 5-5 against each other in the last 10 head-to-heads. They last met in Week 4 of the 2020 season, with Green Bay winning 30-16 at home. Aarons Rodgers tossed for 327 yards and four touchdowns for the Packers, while Matt Ryan managed 285 yards and no touchdowns for the Falcons.

Rodgers is now with the Jets, although he suffered a season-ending Achilles injury last week. Ryan spent last season with the Colts, but he was released in the off-season and is now a free agent.

Recent game between these teams have been high scoring, with the Over hitting in five of the last six head-to-heads.

Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers who? That’s likely what Packers cheeseheads were asking after Jordan Love’s first game as Green Bay’s new starting quarterback last week. After spending three years behind Rodgers on the depth chart, Love silenced the doubters by completing 15 of 27 pass attempts for 245 yards and three touchdowns. The offence was clicking on all fronts against Chicago. Aaron Jones ran for a touchdown and caught one, leading the team in both rushing yards (41) and receiving yards (86).

One big concern for the Packers this week is the health of Jones, who came up limping on his 35-yard TD catch. Jones is dealing with a hamstring issue that kept him out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday, although he was able to do an individual workout. If Jones isn’t good to go by Sunday, AJ Dillon will take over as lead back.

Atlanta Falcons

Rookie running back Bijan Robinson came up big in his NFL debut last week. The No. 8 pick in the 2023 draft caught a touchdown pass against Carolina and set up another score with a long run. Robinson finished the game with 56 rushing yards on 10 carries and 27 receiving yards on six catches.

Second-year quarterback Desmond Ridder didn’t have as positive a day as Robinson. Ridder finished 15 of 18 for just 115 yards and one touchdown. He was also sacked four times. Ironically, Ridder actually finished the day with more catches than No. 1 receiver Drake London. On the game’s first snap, Ridder caught his deflected pass for a loss of six yards. London didn’t have a catch in the game.
