The Eagles and Packers are slated to play in Sao Paulo’s Arena Corinthians, which hosted six matches at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. This will be the first of five international games this season and the first time ever the NFL has played a regular season game in South America.

Philadelphia opened as 2.5-point favourites to win on the NFL odds, with the total set at 48.5.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

These teams both finished second in their respective divisions last season. The Eagles got off to a scorching hot 10-1 start, but lost five of their last six regular season games before suffering a blowout loss against Tampa Bay in the Wild Card game.

Playing without Aaron Rodgers for the first time since 2004, Green Bay finished 9-8 in the regular season. The Pack went on to beat Dallas in the Wild Card and lost a close decision against San Francisco in the Divisional Round.

Philly and Green Bay have alternated victories over their last four meetings, but they didn’t play last year. The Eagles won the last game 40-33 in Week 12 two years ago.

It’s Super Bowl or bust for Philadelphia this year and head coach Nick Sirianni could be on the hot seat if the team gets off to a bad start. At +1200 to win the Super Bowl, the Eagles are tied for the fourth-shortest odds on the NFL futures board. They’re also +550 to win the NFC. One prop to circle is Philly to start the season 5-0 (+750), which they have done in each of the last two seasons.

Last season Jordan Love proved he’s a legit starting quarterback and because of that, expectations are high in Green Bay and they start the season at +1600 to win the Super Bowl. There’s some solid value on the Packers at +210 to win the NFC North. If you want to up the ante, you can also take Love to win regular season MVP and Green Bay to win the Super Bowl at +8000.

Green Bay Packers

Love took a massive step forward in his first season as starting quarterback last year and he was rewarded with a $220 million contract in the off-season. He finished seventh in total passing yards (4,159) in 2023 and second in passing TDs (32) while throwing 11 interceptions. There’s no reason to think that success won’t continue with a deep wide receiver group that includes Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks. They’ll also be up against a Philadelphia defence that ranked 31st against the pass last year.

The Packers revamped their defensive scheme in the off-season, hiring former Boston College head coach Jeff Hafley as their new defensive coordinator. Hafley is much more aggressive in attacking the quarterback and the additions of safeties Xavier McKinney and Javon Bullard should secure the backend.

Philadelphia Eagles

Amidst the reported tension between Jalen Hurts and Sirianni last season, Hurts set career-highs in passing yards (3,858), passing TDs (23) and interceptions (15). And while Hurts finished with his lowest total rushing yards in a season (605) since he became a full-time starter, he also put up a career-high 15 rushing TDs, second-most in the NFL.

The biggest splash the Eagles made in the off-season was signing running back Saquon Barkley away from the division-rival Giants. That adds to an offensive group that also includes elite receivers A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Jahan Dotson. Philadelphia used the draft to add Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean at cornerback and they signed C.J. Gardner-Johnson at strong safety.
