Packers vs. Cardinals Point Spread: NFL Week 7 Odds, Prediction
The Arizona Cardinals look to snap a four-game losing streak that has dumped them into the basement in the NFC West standings when they host the NFC North-leading Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon in NFL Week 7 betting action at State farm Stadium.
The Cardinals return home after squandering three leads in a 27-24 loss in Indianapolis, and have now seen their four recent defeats come by a combined margin of just nine points.
The Packers travel to the desert after rolling to a 27-18 victory over the beleaguered Cincinnati Bengals to snap a two-game winless slide, but have posted just one win in five road contests since last November.
The Packers lead the way as 6.5-point road favourites on the NFL Week 7 odds. The Cardinals lag as lengthy +260 underdogs on the NFL moneyline, and the total is listed at 45.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Packers will be gunning for a third straight head-to-head victory. Green Bay rolled to decisive 34-13 win when the Cardinals visited Lambeau Field last season. Overall, the Packers have dominated the Cardinals since their move to Arizona in 1988, claiming victory in nine of 12 meetings including a 5-2 mark on the road, and have also covered the spread in seven of their past 10 dates with the Cards.
However, the Pack have been somewhat of a betting disappointment when favoured by six of more points, failing to cover in four straight and going a dismal 5-10 ATS in 15 outings since December 2021. The Cardinals have squandered a 2-0 start to the season by blowing late leads in three of their four recent defeats. The Cards have also failed to cover in all three of their home dates this season, and sport a brutal 4-16 SU in their past 20 as home underdogs.
Green Bay Packers
The Packers head west hobbled by a rash of injuries that has depleted their offence. Matthew Golden is nursing a shoulder injury in the wake of the best performance of his career in last week’s victory over the Bengals, but has remained a full participant at practice. Fellow receiver Dontayvion Wicks has been limited at practice by an ankle, while Christian Watson has made limited progress in his return from a knee injury but has seen some action at practice this week.
Running back Josh Jacobs has also been sidelined by an illness, but is expected to be in the lineup on Sunday. All that means is Jordan Love will have to make use of all the weapons at his disposal including tight end Tucker Kraft, who made his third scoring catch of the season last week, and is worth backing on the NFL player props as a -115 wager to compile OVER 44.5 receiving yards.
Arizona Cardinals
Injuries have also emerged as a major concern for the Cardinals, whose Week 7 injury report features such names as quarterback Kyler Murray, and receivers Marvin Harrison Jr., Michael Wilson, and Zay Jones. Wilson and Jones combined to record 123 receiving yards last weekend.
If that duo, along with Harrison, who remains in concussion protocol, are limited or absent on Sunday, it could be a long afternoon for veteran Jacoby Brissett, who is expected to get the call once again place of Murray. Brissett tossed for 320 yards and two scores last weekend in his lone start of the season but maintaining that momentum amid the team’s injuries is likely too much to ask.
