Packers vs. Browns Point Spread: NFL Week 3 Odds, Prediction
Two teams sprinting in opposite directions meet up in Cleveland on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. The Green Bay Packers are off to as good a 2-0 start as any team in the league after dispatching 2024/25 playoff teams in two weeks.
The Cleveland Browns, meanwhile, have already lost twice in typical Browns’ fashion, a 17-16 defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1 featuring a missed extra point and a missed 36-yard field goal attempt, and then a 41-17 drubbing at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens, despite out-gaining them, 323-242.
The Packers are looking to reach the postseason for the third straight season and sixth time in seven seasons under coach Matt LaFleur, while Cleveland was hoping to put last season’s 3-14 campaign quickly behind them, to no avail.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Green Bay is an eight-point favourite on the NFL odds with a current moneyline price of -425. They are 2-0 against the spread after covering last week as a 3.5-point favourite in a 27-18 home win over the Washington Commanders.
Cleveland’s money line is at +325. The Browns are 1-1 ATS this year, failing to cover last week as a 12.5-point dog at the Ravens. The Over/Under is listed at 41.5 points. The Packers have played to the Under twice, while Cleveland has gone Over and Under once apiece.
Green Bay Packers
Packers fans couldn’t ask for a better start. First, an impressive and comprehensive 27-13 division victory over the Detroit Lions. And last week, Green Bay’s defence contained reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels in the Thursday night win over Washington.
Green Bay held Washington to 230 total yards, including just 51 on the ground, and sacked Daniels four times. They held the Commanders to just 11 first-quarter yards and set the tone early.
Jordan Love threw two touchdowns and no interceptions for the second consecutive week while tight end Tucker Kraft had a career day with six catches for 124 yards and a touchdown.
Cleveland Browns
How long will it take for the Browns defence to revolt? A unit that held the Ravens to 45 rushing yards, the worst since Lamar Jackson went under centre for Baltimore, was done in by Cleveland’s inept offence and special teams.
The Browns surrendered 21 points on two turnovers and a blocked punt that were either returned for touchdowns or set up very short fields for Baltimore. Cleveland trailed just 17-10 after three quarters, but allowed three straight touchdowns in the fourth for the lopsided final result.
NFL Prediction: Who Will Win Packers vs. Browns?
Rushing yards may be at a premium against the top two rushing defences after two weeks. Cleveland has allowed just 91 total rushing yards so far, followed immediately by Green Bay, which has surrendered just 97 yards on the ground. Cleveland’s defence is first overall in total yards allowed, as it’s giving up just 191.5 yards per game. The Packers sit third, allowing 238 yards per game.
With these kinds of defences, an eight-point spread seems like a stretch to cover, but Green Bay has already done that twice against better overall teams. The Browns are struggling in two of the three phases of the game, and that trend should continue on Sunday. Look for the Packers to enjoy a 24-10 triumph.
