Packers vs. Bills SNF Point Spread: NFL Week 8 Odds, Prediction

The Bills are 11-point favourites on the NFL odds.

Sunday Night Football Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers has won four MVPs overall and the past two. The only player to win three in a row was Rodgers’ predecessor with the Packers: Brett Favre. A-Rod isn’t going to match him regardless but Buffalo’s Josh Allen likely will be the one to end the streak barring injury.

These teams last met in Week 4 of the 2018 season and Green Bay won 22-0 at home. Rodgers threw for 298 yards and a score. Allen was a struggling rookie back then and it showed as he was 16-for-33 for 151 yards and two picks. He’s definitely not that guy now.

The two teams have alternated wins in the series since 1994 with each club winning four. Neither team has won a road game in the series since 1991, a 34-24 victory by the Bills. The Packers are looking for their first-ever win at Buffalo.

The home team is 6-0 ATS in the past six meetings.

Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers badly misses traded All-Pro receiver Davante Adams as Rodgers hasn’t come close to a 300-yard passing game this season and was held to 194 on Sunday in 23-21 loss at Washington – which was starting its backup quarterback. Green Bay was 0-for-6 on third down and managed 232 total yards. To make matters worse, Rodgers lost his new No. 1 wideout Allen Lazard to a shoulder injury. Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon, two good backs, combined for 38 yards on 12 carries against one of the league’s worst run defenses. It’s the first time the Packers have lost three games in a row under Coach Matt LaFleur, whose four losses already equal a career single-season high with 10 games still to play. Sunday will be the first time Rodgers has ever been a double-digit dog. He has never won a game straight up as at least a 7-point dog. The Packers are 1-4 ATS in their past five after a loss.

Buffalo Bills

Buffalo comes out of its bye week as the team to beat for Super Bowl 57 and Josh Allen is on track to win his first NFL MVP Award. He has thrown for 1,980 yards and 17 TDs with only four picks while rushing for 257 yards and two scores. Don’t be surprised if the Bills acquire a running back – the Rams’ Cam Akers? – ahead of the Nov. 1 Trade Deadline as they are all-in this year. If Allen keeps running as much as he has, his chances of getting injured increase. The Bills were mentioned as a possible destination for Christian McCaffrey before the running back was dealt to the San Francisco 49ers last week. The team could activate Pro Bowl cornerback Tre’Davious White this week. He hasn’t played this season after tearing his ACL last year. Buffalo is 5-0 coming off the bye week under Coach Sean McDermott. It will win, but 11 points is an awful lot to give Aaron Rodgers. The Bills are 5-0-1 ATS in their past six at home.
