Packers vs. Bears Point Spread: NFL Week 16 Odds, Prediction
The NFL regular season has nearly reached its conclusion, and Week 16 has a ton of crucial matchups, including an NFC North divisional game between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears.
As it stands, the Bears are currently leading the NFC North, with the Packers sitting just behind them in second place. These teams just recently met in Week 14, when the Packers won by a score of 28-21 in Green Bay.
The rematch will be played in Chicago, and the winner will put themselves in the driver’s seat to win the division with just two games remaining.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Looking at the NFL odds, the Packers are the small road favourites, marking the second time they’ve been favoured in as many meetings this season.
When it comes to betting trends, it is important to note that Green Bay has struggled against the spread when playing on the road, going 2-5 ATS. As for the Bears, they are a solid home team, going 4-2 ATS at home this season, and having lost outright just once.
Green Bay Packers
The Packers enter this game with a record of 9-4-1 and, as mentioned, they are in second place in the NFC North. Green Bay is coming off a road loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 15 by a score of 34-26.
The most significant news that is likely to affect the Packers moving forward is the injury to Micah Parsons. He went down in the game against the Broncos, and it is now confirmed that he tore his ACL, which means he is done for the season. This news alone is likely to derail the Packers’ Super Bowl chances.
Chicago Bears
As for the Bears, they enter this game with a record of 10-4 and are holding a slim lead in the NFC North. Chicago most recently crushed the Cleveland Browns in Week 15 by a score of 31-3.
The win against Cleveland was a much-needed bounce-back after losing to the Packers the week prior. With the win, the Bears have now won six of their last seven games.
As far as injuries are concerned, the Bears have two key receivers who are questionable for this Week 16 game. That said, it includes wide receivers Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III.
NFL Prediction: Who Will Win Packers vs. Bears?
The point spread for this game is fishy to me as the Packers, who are not a good road team, are the favourites to win and retake control of the NFC North. Of course, Green Bay did beat Chicago in the first meeting, but it has since lost Parsons for the season, as already outlined.
Simply put, the Bears are in much better form, plus they should be able to exploit the Packers defence with Parsons out. For that reason, my prediction is for the Chicago Bears to cover and also win 27-24.
