Official: Colts QB Anthony Richardson to Miss Week 3

There were murmurs earlier in the week that Indianapolis’ newly minted gunslinger could miss action in Week 3. Those doubts were well founded, as Anthony Richardson is officially out of the game against the Baltimore Ravens. He remains in the NFL concussion protocol.

The NFL odds have shifted slightly. They were -7.5 in favour of the Ravens and have been adjusted to -8.0.

Colts QB Anthony Richard Richardson in Concussion Protocol

The first-year signal-caller admitted to his own team that he was experiencing concussion symptoms in the second quarter of Week 2’s match away to the Houston Texans. Up until that point he had rushed for two touchdowns.

He was immediately taken out of the game and replaced by backup Gardner Minshew. Minshew will start for the Colts this Sunday against the Ravens. Last week the Texans the six-year veteran went 19-for-23 for 171 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. The Ravens’ defence poses a more daunting task, but Indy at least knows they have a competent plan B.

Richardson had not practiced all week. Sources revelled to ESPN that there is some optimism he could return for Week 4.
