Just two teams remain undefeated against the spread after NFL Week 3, with the Los Angeles Chargers and the surprising Indianapolis Colts remaining perfect, both SU and ATS, in the wake of victories over the Denver Broncos and Tennessee Titans, respectively.

Overall, just five teams have avoided defeat during the first three weeks of the season, including the Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Philadelphia Eagles.

Here’s a closer look on how NFL Week 3 wrapped up at the sportsbook.

Home Underdogs Pay Out in NFL Week 3

Sports bettors backing home underdogs enjoyed some moderate success this past weekend, with three of six home dogs claiming outright victories. However, road underdogs failed to keep pace, with the Lions emerging as the only team to claim a SU win, while road teams tallied an overall 4-6 ATS record.

Overall, just five teams have compiled a winning ATS record as betting underdogs this season. Leading the way are the New York Jets. The team has yet to eke out an outright win, but have seen two of their first three games settled by just two points. And the Jets travel to Miami for Monday Night Football having seen each of their past four road dates with the beleaguered Dolphins settled by a single score.

The UNDER Still Paying Out in Primetime

After a big week in NFL Week 2, NFL betting fans taking the OVER in totals betting enjoyed moderate success. The OVER paid out in eight of 16 contests, with seven contests seeing the total top 50.

However, low scoring remains the trend for teams in the AFC West and NFC East. All eight teams in those divisions sport 1-2 OVER/UNDER records, with the Dallas Cowboys being the only team among them to see total points top an average of 40 over the first three weeks. That extends a trend that dates back to the Cowboys’ lost season in 2024, with the total topping 50 just twice in their past 13 overall contests. The OVER has gone 7-6 over that stretch, but has paid out just once in their past six contests when pegged at 45 or higher.

While the NFL Week 3 edition of Monday Night Football eventually turned into a shootout as the Detroit Lions manhandled the slumping Baltimore Ravens in a 38-30 victory, low scoring remains the theme in primetime, with the UNDER paying out on both Thursday and Sunday night.

NFL fans are likely to be in for more of the same in NFL Week 4, considering Thursday Night Football features a matchup between stingy NFC West rivals Seattle and Arizona, and the opening contest in this week’s MNF doubleheader showcasing a clash of AFC East bottom feeders Miami and New York.
