Monday Gif Blitz - Week 10

NFL Week 10 Monday Morning GIF BLITZ!

Today’s “Monday Morning” Gif Blitz for Week 10 comes a day late as I just returned from the legendary Lambeau Field where I watched the Packers pull the plug on the Bears season. The stakes are getting higher with the playoffs approaching. Every game is must-win for NFC teams as several teams could be fighting for the two coveted Wild Card spots. In the AFC, a handful of teams sit at 6-3 behind both New England and Denver who sit at 7-2. We’re starting to see who’s going to have to make a real push to have any hope for the playoffs.

So here they are, better late than never, Week 10’s best gifs:

It’s not every day you see a reverse punt, but that’s the kind of night the Bears had against the Packers. Here’s Jarret Boykin rushing the punt attempt and getting his foot in there before Chicago punter Pat O’Donnell had a chance to kick the ball away. The Bears season is all but DOA after a 55-14 trouncing at Lambeau.

Pat O’Donnell needs to stop listening to Jay Cutler’s pregame motivational speeches.

Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer had a night to forget just after signing a contract extension. He was taken out of the game after injuring his knee and likely ending his season against the Rams. Before exiting the game Palmer put together this ultra-strategic and completely illegal play by throwing two forward passes. The Rams didn’t put up much a fight during the game despite the loss of Palmer, losing 31-14.

The universe is clearly pushing to have Murphy’s Law changed to Palmer’s Law.

The Cowboys and Jaguars made the trip to London this week. Tony Romo returned to the starting line up after fracturing his back two weeks ago and appears to be just fine, finding Dez Bryant for catch and incredibly fast run for a 35 yard touchdown. Dallas won 31-17.

You can almost pin point the moment Dez realizes he’s playing the Jaguars.

The Cardinals were able to hold off the Rams after losing QB Carson Palmer in a 14-31 win. Arizona defensive end Kareem Martin proved that defense wins games with this hit on St. Louis QB Austin Davis that turned into a Cardinals touchdown.

I call this play “how to hold on to the ball way too long and suffering the consequences” – by Austin Davis.

If you can’t run with Megatron, you need to at least be able to jump insanely high to make amazing interceptions to stop him. That’s exactly what the Dolphins’ Brent Grimes did yesterday. It wasn’t enough as the Lions won on a touchdown pass with 30 seconds remaining in regulation, 16-20.

Short people shouldn’t be able to jump this high.

It almost seems unfair that Aaron Rodgers has both Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb to throw to every game. Just look at this beautiful one handed grab Cobb made against the Bears in a lobsided 55-14 win. Rodgers threw six touchdown passes in the first half alone, three to Nelson and Cobb combined.

It’s a good thing Cobb caught this or else the Packers would have only been up 35 points at half time.

The Giants kept it close against the Seahawks until the fourth quarter when Seattle exploded for 21 points to seal the 17-38 win. Seattle’s defense was after Eli Manning all and rewarded us with this gem of a sack dance by Michael Bennett.

HYPNOTIC.

Manning and the Broncos kept their offense on its torrid pace against the Oakland Raiders with a 41-17 win. Manning left the game briefly, which meant backup Brock Owsweiler was to enter the game. Manning wasn’t having it and Osweiler’s reaction is priceless as the game had already been decided.

Keep on padding those stats, Peyton!

The Jets have finally won their second game of the year 20-13, ending the Steelers winning streak three game winning streak. Mike Vick played competently and even showed flashes of his early career play making abilities, juking Brice McCain right into the ground.

It’s better than tripping over the 10 yard line, I guess.

The Saints and 49ers went back and forth in a close game that eventually went to the 49ers, 27-24, in OT. Here’s Drew Brees gracefully evading the 49ers pass rush and somehow finding Jimmy Graham for an 11 yard touchdown.

Brees’ and his moves must be lobbying to another cringe worthy commercial with boy band One Direction.
