The Jets are coming off a dominating 31-10 home victory over Chicago, which comes on the heels a 10-3 loss to New England that snapped New York’s four-game road win streak. The Vikings can clinch the NFC North title with a win over New York on Sunday combined with a loss by Detroit in its home date with Jacksonville. The Vikings are coming off a 33-26 win over the Patriots to improve to 9-2 on the season, and extend their lead atop the divisional standings to five games over the second-place Lions.

The Vikings have held steady since opening as 3-point favourites, but have garnered the support of 77% of sports bettors. The total has risen to 44.5 since opening at 42, with 85% of the betting action backing the OVER.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Sunday afternoon’s matchup at US Bank Stadium marks the first meeting between these teams since 2018. The Vikings have averaged 33.5 points per game while winning two straight against the Jets, capped by a 37-17 victory when they visited the Big Apple four years ago. The total has gone OVER in five of seven clashes between these teams, with the road team claiming victory in four of eight matchups since 1982. 

New York Jets

The Jets are expected to once again have Mike White under center when they hit the gridiron for Sunday’s game. White was promoted to starting quarterback after head coach Robert Saleh elected to bench second-year pivot Zach Wilson in the wake of his post-game comments made two weeks ago denying any accountability for the team’s recent woes. White stepped up in his first action of the season, completing 22 of 28 pass attempts for 315 yards and three touchdowns. However, White’s grasp on the starter’s role is far from certain, at least until he has proven that he put his past struggles with accuracy and play selection behind him after tossing eight picks in just four appearances last season. Injuries will amp up the pressure on White. Most notable among players on this week’s injury report are rusher Michael Carter, who has been absent from practice with an ankle injury. Offensive linemen Duane Brown and Cedric Ogbuehi have also missed time at practice this week, raising concerns about how much protection the largely immobile White will have on Sunday.

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings effectively rebounded last weekend from a brutal 40-3 loss to Dallas in Week 11, leveraging a fourth-quarter rally to knock off the Patriots 33-26. With the win, the Vikings improved to 6-1 on home turf this season, while scoring at least 28 points on four occasions. Frustrated by a stingy Cowboys defence two weeks ago, quarterback Kirk Cousins returned to familiar form against New England, connecting on three scoring passes and completing a season-high 81.1% of pass attempts. Justin Jefferson was once again Cousins’ favourite target, making nine catches for 139 yards and one score, and has now topped 100 yards in six of eight outings. Adam Thielen also got in on the scoring with his first TD catch in six outings, while tight end TJ Hockenson found the end zone for the first time since joining the Vikings in a trade with Detroit last month. However, the Vikings ground game has struggled to produce, with Minnesota rushers compiling just 73.3 yards per game and recording just two scoring runs over the team’s past four contests.
