Jets vs. Rams Point Spread: NFL Week 15 Odds, Prediction
The Jets have opened the season with 13 consecutive defeats and have been one of the worst ATS teams in the league, as well. So it’s no surprise that they’ll be getting more than two touchdowns against a host Rams team that is battling for the NFC West division crown.
NFL Week 15 Point Spread and Betting Analysis
So yeah, this spread is big – one of the biggest of the season, in fact. And that hasn’t mattered at all to the Jets, who are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games when getting 14 or more points. Their average margin of defeat in those seven outings: 25.7 points. The Rams’ recent sample is too small to rely on – they’ve been favored by 14+ points just once since Super Bowl XXXVI in 2002 – but they won that game handily, defeating Arizona 31-9 back Dec. 23, 2018.
The total is a predictably low 44, and this could be a tricky one for Over/Under bettors. The Jets have been a strong Under play, going 6-3 over their last nine games. And the Rams are also trending in that direction with an 8-2 Under record in their last 10. Oddsmakers have clearly baked both teams’ proclivities into this total – but can the Jets keep the red-hot Rams off the scoreboard enough to convert the Under?
New York Jets
There isn’t much we can say here that hasn’t already been said: The Jets are on a historic path to the top pick in the NFL Draft, and are a good bet to complete just the second 0-16 season in NFL history. They’ve produced fewer than 300 yards of total offence in seven of their past nine games, and own a dreadful 4-9 ATS record despite being an underdog of 6.5 points or more in all but one game so far this season.
Los Angeles Rams
Sean McVay’s squad is rolling as it looks to fend off the Seattle Seahawks for top spot in the division – and they’ve discovered a new offensive star just as they hit the stretch run of the regular season. Rookie running back Cam Akers continued his late-season breakout with a 171-yard breakout in last week’s 24-3 win over the New England Patriots; he now has 327 rushing yards and two touchdowns over his previous three games.
