Jets vs. Jaguars Point Spread: NFL Week 15 Odds, Prediction

New York is 3-10 and has lost three of its last four games, with a win over only the lowly Falcons during this stretch. Jacksonville, on the other hand, has surged to a 9-4 record thanks to a four-game winning streak.

The all-time head-to-head series is dead even at 9-9, with the Jets winning two of the last three contests dating back to 2021. These two teams most recently faced each other this very same week last season (also in Jacksonville), where New York prevailed 32-25.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

New York is 5-1 against the spread in its last six contests and 3-0 ATS in its last three on the road. Jacksonville is 4-0 ATS in its last four overall. As for the over/under, the over is 7-4 in the Jets’ last 11 games and 6-1 in the last seven head-to-head matchups.

In addition to the more traditional lines, the first-quarter spread is -2.5 in Jacksonville’s favour and the first-half spread is -6.5. The first-quarter over/under is 7.5; the first-half over/under is 20.5.

New York Jets

Even though the Jets boast more wins than the Titans, Raiders and Giants, you really have to consider if they are the worst team in football. New York’s victories have come by one point over Cincinnati without Joe Burrow, 27-20 over Cleveland despite gaining a mere 169 yards of total offence and by three points over Atlanta despite getting dominated in every phase other than special teams. When the Jets lose, it usually isn’t close. Their last three setbacks have come by 13, 13 and 24 points.

How bad could it get for head coach Aaron Glenn’s crew on Sunday? That depends on the quarterback situation. The statuses of both Tyrod Taylor (groin) and Justin Fields (knee) are unknown. Fields was inactive for last week’s loss to Miami and Taylor left after two series. Brady Cook, an undrafted rookie out of Missouri, played the rest of the way and completed just 14 of 30 passes while getting picked off twice.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Things won’t get any easier for New York given how well Jacksonville’s defence is playing. During their four-game winning streak, the Jaguars have allowed a grand total of 52 points. This stretch includes a 35-6 rout of the Chargers and a 25-3 victory over the Titans. Jacksonville is No. 1 in the entire NFL against the run, giving up a mere 82.9 yards per contest.

On the other side of the ball, running back Travis Etienne has scored six touchdowns in the past five games. When a team can both run the ball and stop the run, its quarterback does not have to be anything except a game manager. That is a perfect situation for Trevor Lawrence, because he can be a turnover machine when he tries to do too much. Lawrence has seven TD passes in the last three games and has gone two straight without throwing an interception.

NFL Prediction: Who Will Win Jets vs. Jaguars?

There is too much uncertainty involving the Jets to have any confidence in their ability to win this showdown or even keep it competitive. Jacksonville is clicking on both offence and defence right now, and that should continue at the expense of a reeling opponent. Let’s go with the Jags to win this one 24-10.
