It’s one of the biggest miss-matches on the board in week 5 as the Jets are still in search for their first win of the season.

They’ll have to do it against a team they haven’t beat in the last 10 tries.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

It’s quite the record, and don’t adjust your glasses but the Philadelphia Eagles are 10-0 in 10 games against the New York Jets dating back to the 1973 season. The Eagles are also 4-0 against the spread in the last four games head-to-head.

Are the Eagles rolling after their big win in Lambeau Field? They could be, and the numbers don’t lie. The Eagles are 4-0 ATS after coming off a victory in their last four games. However, you might want to tap the brakes, as the Eagles are 0-6 ATS in their last six home games versus a team with a losing road record.

The Eagles are 17-5 straight up in 22 games as home favourites since the Doug Pederson and Carson Wentz eras began in 2016. That’s a 77.3% winning percentage.

New York Jets

They Jets are coming off a bye last week and although Sam Darnold did take first team reps this week, he was officially ruled out of this game on Friday morning. So third-string pivot Luke Falk will make his second career start this weekend in Philly. Falk’s first assignment was against the Patriots in week three. It was an expected disaster that lived up to expectations as Falk passed for a grand total of 98 yards.

No matter who has been under center, this team has struggled on offence this season. They are ranked 32nd in total yards (196.7) and 32nd in passing yards (131).

The worst stat of the bunch is how many points this team has scored offensively compared versus defensively in three games, here are the numbers; on offence, the Jets have scored a grand total of 10 points; one touchdown and one field. On defence, 23 points: two interception returns, one fumble return, and a safety. Amazing!

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are coming off of their most impressive win of the season in Green Bay (34-27). They should be well-rested with 11 days in-between games.

The Eagles as a team rushed for 187 yards against the Packers, led by Jordan Howard, who rushed for a team high 87 yards on 15 carries. Look for Howard to once again feature against a Jets rush defence that is ranked eighth in the league allowing an average of 88.7 yards against.

Carson Wentz is ranked 17th overall in passing yards with 963 yards in four games. He should improve on those numbers against a Jets pass defence that has allowed an average of 286.7 yards per game in the air.
