Two of the worst teams, if not “the” worst teams in football, square off in Miami on Sunday. The Jets currently sit with just one win in seven tries; the Dolphins are still looking for win number one on the year.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Dolphins enter this game with the Jets, winners of three games, (including sweeping the series last year) in a row dating back to October 2017. The Jets are 1-4-1 against the spread versus Miami in their last six games.

The Jets open as slight favourites at Sports Interaction in this game, and that’s good news for Gang Green. The favourite in this series is 5-2-1 ATS in the last eight games. They are also 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 trips to Miami, so they have had some success against the number in South Beach.

Despite covering their last two games (at Buffalo, at Pittsburgh), the Dolphins are 1-4 ATS in their last five games on home turf.

New York Jets

The Jets are coming off a 29-15 loss to the Jaguars as they return to the state of Florida trying to snap a two-game losing streak in Miami.

In the two losses the team was outscored 62-15, and continue to have major problems on offence. Through eight weeks of the NFL season the team is ranked 32nd in total offence, averaging just 209.6 yards of offence this year. Quarterback Sam Darnold has been a turnover machine this year, as he threw three more interceptions in Jacksonville as has thrown seven picks in his last two games.

On Monday the Jets sent Leonard Williams to the Giants for a pair of draft picks. There are a number of rumours circulating around the team involving Jamal Adams, Le’Veon Bell, and Robbie Anderson, but with the deadline now over, all remain on the roster.

Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins made it interesting on Monday night when they jumped off to a quick 14-0 first quarter lead. However, they did not score a single point after that watching the Steelers score 27 unanswered points to win the game 27-14.

Former Jets Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick threw two touchdowns but also two interceptions in the loss. He has played in two consecutive games for the Dolphins after sharing the starting duties with Josh Rosen at the beginning of the season.

On Monday the Dolphins shipped Running back Kenyon Drake to the Cardinals prior to the trade deadline. Mark Walton has been the primary back over the last two games rushing for 101 yards on 25 carries. Expect more from the 22 year old as he’ll get more opportunities the remainder of the season.
