Jaguars vs. Titans Point Spread: NFL Week 14 Odds, Prediction

The Tennessee Titans are 7-5 on the year with each of the five losses coming to teams who are in position to make the playoffs. Nonetheless, after back-to-back losses and the odd firing of General Manager Jon Robinson, it feels like Sunday is an important game to the franchise. A win gets them back on track and reinforces their playoff push. A loss might have some people wondering which direction this team is heading. The good news is the Jacksonville Jaguars are coming to town. While they’re improved, they’ve still won just once in their last 23 road games.

The Titans are 3.5-point favourites to win on the NFL odds.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Jaguars are just 7-37 in their last 34 games and 2-7 ATS in their last nine. Road games have been a struggle for them as they’ve dropped 22 of their last 23 away games. They’re also 1-9 ATS in their last 10 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Titans are 7-3 in their last 10 games but the average margin in those contests is 1.4 points per game. That’s something to keep in mind given where the spread is. They have won and covered three of their last four home games.

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars were flat as a pancake last week in Detroit and the Lions hammered them by a score of 40-14. It was a blowout with no mystery or nuance. Detroit threw for over 300 yards and posted 437 total yards on the day. The Lions gained 31 first downs to just 14 for Jacksonville. Detroit held the ball for nearly 14 minutes more than Jacksonville (36:50 to 23:10). Jared Goff played brilliantly for the Lions while Trevor Lawrence got injured for the Jaguars and was not able to play the same high-level game he delivered a week earlier in a come-from-behind win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Jacksonville got destroyed, and it is a wake-up call for this team as it heads into the final stretch of its season. The Jaguars are clearly improved from 2021, when they hit rock bottom, but are they improved by a significant enough degree to warrant optimism about their long-term future? The next few weeks might give us some clues about the answer to that question.

Tennessee Titans

The Titans, like the Jaguars, just didn’t show up in Week 13. They were crushed by the Philadelphia Eagles 35-10. The Eagles out-gained the Titans 453-209 and collected 26 first downs to Tennessee’s 11. They threw for 386 yards, including a couple of long passes to former Titan receiver A.J. Brown, who roasted his old team. The Tennessee secondary was so good against the Chiefs a few weeks ago, but it failed to replicate that high standard of play against the Eagles.

Meanwhile, the Titans’ offence just didn’t have much to offer. They rushed for well under 100 yards. Ryan Tannehill was the team’s leading rusher with 34 yards, so that tells you Derrick Henry was a non-factor. Henry has now been under 100 yards for four straight weeks. He needs to get going as this offence is built around him.
