Not only have the Jags not won a game in Nashville since 2003, they are very close to being out of playoff contention for the 11th time in 12 seasons. The Titans still have a shot at a wild card spot, and will be coming into this one with that goal in mind.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The total for Sunday’s 4:05PM game currently is set at 41.5 points, with a +146 moneyline set for the visiting underdog Jaguars. The 4-6 Jags have been a mess lately, and have been outscored 59-16 in their last two against division rivals Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts.

The Jags came away with a 20-7 win against the Titans earlier this season, however Tennessee still leads in all-time wins with 29-21.

The biggest problem for the Jaguars is their defense against the rush, and they rank 29th in the league for that statistic. When this team has allowed more than 100 rushing yards this season, they are 0-6.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Back to that rushing defense problem, which is so bad that it needs to addressed immediately if the defensive staff for this team want to keep their jobs. To reiterate, Jacksonville has allowed 480 rushing yards in their last two games. 264 were surrendered to the Colts in a 33-13 loss, which was the 4th most yards allowed in Jaguars history. Prior to that, they allowed the Texans to run 216 yards in a 26-3 slaughterhouse of a game.

Nick Foles returned last week, but didn’t make much of an impression against the Colts. It’s expected he’ll be stronger in this Sunday’s game against the Titans, who have the 14th best pass rush in the NFL.

Tennessee Titans

The Titans just had a week off to prepare for this game against their biggest rival. They have a 5-5 record and sit at third place in their division. Before the bye, the Titans shocked everyone with a massive win in Week 10 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Titans pulled off a 35-32 win despite missing some key pieces in their line-up, including WR Corey Davis, TE Delanie Walker and DT Jurrell Casey. Coach Mike Vrabel has told press that he expects several of the injured players to be ready for Sunday.

Titans running back Derrick Henry will be a major factor for an offensive strategy that has to be preparing to take advantage of an embarrassing Jaguars rush defense, one that has been exposed in a big way in the last two weeks.
