Giants vs. Jets Point Spread: NFL Pre-Season Week 3 Odds, Prediction

Robert Saleh has said his club will be playing starters for an unspecified amount of time after doing the opposite in Weeks 1 and 2. Brian Daboll has yet to confirm what the Giants plan to do, although in the past two weeks they have dressed their starters.
Both New York clubs aren’t expected to have much success this season. Oddsmakers have the Jets at -1040 to miss the playoffs and the Giants -275 to miss.
Kickoff Sunday goes at 1 p.m. ET, with the Jets 3-point favourites at home and the over-under at 38 on the NFL odds.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Whoever wins Sunday will cap off a perfect preseason record as each club enters 2-0 so far. The Giants squeaked out two victories by a combined five points with both games finishing over the total. The Jets meanwhile have scored 24 points in both of their wins that each went over the total as well.
Prior to this preseason, the Giants have failed to cover in eight straight games and six straight on the road. The Jets ended last season on a high when it comes to the spread, covering in five of their last six games.
New York Giants
A huge fourth quarter propelled the Giants to a 25-22 victory last week. Davis Webb threw two touchdown passes to undrafted receiver Alex Bachman, who went off for a game-high 11 catches and 122 yards to go with the two scores. Webb, Tyrod Taylor, and presumed starter Daniel Jones combined for 43 completions and 356 yards in the victory. Jones threw the only interception, making for an interesting quarterback battle down the stretch.
Reports indicate that star running back Sqauon Barkely has been a strong performer in practice after recovering from several major injuries this past season, although Barkely is not expected to suit up until the regular season.
New York Jets
The Jets dressing their starters Sunday means veteran pivot Joe Flacco will get reps under centre, as Flacco will presumably fill in for the injured Zach Wilson. Flacco’s yet to play in the preseason as backups Mike White and Chris Streveler have taken the quarterback reps. Streveler’s been the most impressive with three touchdown passes and 64 yards on the ground in the Jets’ two preseason outings.
The Jets went on a 21-0 run with Streveler last Monday, with Lawrence Cager catching a 34-yard touchdown pass, La’Mical Perine running in a seven-yard score, and defensive end Bradlee Anae scooping up a 30-yard fumble return for six the other way.
