The New York Giants won 11 games last season and were supposed to be even better this year. That hasn’t been the case as their offense has been nothing short of pathetic. A unit that includes Eli Manning, Odell Beckham Jr., Brandon Marshall and first-round pick Evan Engram is averaging 6.5 points per game so far. Can they turn things around in Philadelphia in Week 3?
New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Point Spread And Betting Analysis
The Eagles opened up -6 at Sports Interaction and that’s where the game was at last check. A lot of experts figured the Eagles would be in the -3 range when projection preseason lines but the Giants recent struggles have clearly changed that. The Giants have played in two nationally televised games and the public has seen them struggle offensively. That’s why the Eagles are laying nearly a touchdown. The total for this contest opened at 43.5 and has yet to move.
New York Giants
The Giants playoff hopes took a tremendous hit with their loss to Detroit on Monday Night Football. At 0-2, ESPN’s Football Power Index gives New York a 7.2-percent chance to make the playoffs. Eli Manning has thrown for just 459 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions through two games. While Odell Beckham Jr. returned on a limited snap count against the Lions, it didn’t matter nearly enough with the offensive line continuing to struggle.
The lack of time in the pocket combined with the lack of a running game has put even more pressure on Manning, who has not looked good. The Giants defense has the potential to keep the Philadelphia offense in check but it won’t matter if the offense doesn’t figure things out in Week 3.
Carson Wentz has had some good moments and some bad moments through the first two weeks of the season. The improved cast of receivers on the Eagles roster has definitely helped but Wentz needs to become more efficient. The lack of an efficient ground game has kept this offense from reaching its peak potential. They rank 27th in the NFL right now in rushing offense with just 137 total yards on the ground. The good news is they have still done a better job of moving the football than New York early on this season.
Philadelphia’s defensive line has the ability to generate a ton of pressure and defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz isn’t afraid to send blitzes. If the Eagles defense can consistently get to Manning in the pocket, this could be another long game for Giants fans to watch.
