The Eagles boosted their playoff hopes with Tuesday night’s 27-17 victory over Washington, and have now posted outright wins in five of their past seven contests. The Giants are coming off a 21-6 defeat at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys, and have now lost and failed to cover in three straight outings.

Philadelphia is a 10-point favourite to win on the NFL odds, with a total of 40.5.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Aided by the Giants’ worsening injury situation, as well as the support of 55 per cent of sports bettors, the Eagles have held steady since opening as lofty 10-point favourites. The total has steadily dipped since opening at 42.0, and is currently pegged at 40.5, with 53 per cent of betting action backing the UNDER.

Sunday afternoon’s matchup at Lincoln Financial Field marks the second and final meeting of the season between these NFC East rivals. The Giants posted a 13-7 win as 4-point underdogs in their Week 12 date with the Eagles. New York has now tallied straight up and against the spread wins in two straight head-to-head clashes. Both of those victories came at MetLife Stadium. The Giants have lost seven straight in Philadelphia. However, New York has managed to cover in four straight road dates with the Eagles. The Giants are also undefeated against the spread in their past three against Philly while pegged as an underdog by seven or more points. The UNDER is currently on a 5-1-0 run when these teams meet. However, the total has finished under 40 just once during that stretch.

New York Giants

The Giants’ injury woes have gone from bad to worse in the wake of yet another feeble offensive performance in last weekend’s loss to the Cowboys. Sidelined by a neck injury for the past three games, quarterback Daniel Jones has been shut down for the remainder of the season. And with veteran Mike Glennon failing to spark the Giants offence in Jones’ absence, reports suggest second-year passer Jake Fromm may take over as starter for the rest of the season. Fromm has quickly developed chemistry with receiver Kenny Golladay in the limited action he has seen, and would receive a boost from the return of rookie Kadarius Toney, who is expected to rejoin the team after missing four games due to injuries and Covid-19.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles find themselves in the hunt for an NFC wild card spot in the wake of Tuesday’s win over Washington, and much of the credit must go to Jalen Hurts. The Eagles pivot tossed for one touchdown, and ran for two more in the win, and now leads all passers with 10 TD runs this season. However, concerns linger over a high ankle sprain that continues to hamper the 23-year-old, who has been limited in practice as the team prepares for Sunday’s contest on just four days rest. The Eagles ground game has also been hobbled by injuries to Miles Sanders, who missed Wednesday practice with a quad injury, and Jordan Howard, who was limited by a knee injury.
