If last season was a dream come true for longtime Philadelphia football fans, this campaign has been a nightmare. The Eagles are the defending Super Bowl champions and worst bet in the NFL this season. The Giants come to town looking to add to Philly’s misery.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Sports Interaction opened this game with the Eagles favoured by 5.5 points and a total of 46 points. The spread and Over/Under line have yet to move as we approach the weekend.

The Giants are coming off just their third win of the year after they snuck past the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 38-35 last weekend. The game resulted in a push but the G-Men are still undefeated against the spread over the last two weeks. Of course, their recent history against the Eagles is a little more concerning.

Philadelphia is 8-1 in its last nine games against New York. Someone should point this out to the Eagles because the players in the locker room are in need of a boost following last week’s butt whooping at the hands of the New Orleans Saints.

Philly lost by 41 points with the eyes of the nation watching. At 4-6, the playoffs should be a longshot but that’s not the case. Sports Interaction still has the Eagles as the second favourite to win the NFC East division at +280. Only the Dallas Cowboys (-139) have better odds to win the division.

New York Giants

There isn’t much for G-Men to like about another season with no shot of seeing the playoffs. Saquon Barkley is doing his best to keep up the spirits of New Yorkers. The rookie running back went bonkers last weekend against the Bucs. He ran for 142 yards and two TDs, and caught two balls for 10 yards and another score.

The Eagles gave up 173 rushing yards against the Saints. Barkley could be poised for another big day if Philly doesn’t improve its run defence.

Philadelphia Eagles

Carson Wentz would like to forget that game against the Saints quickly. The Philly quarterback had his worst performance in his three-year pro career. When the final whistle blew, Wentz stat line looked worse than a vegetarian Thanksgiving dinner: 19-for-33, 156 passing yards, 0 touchdown passes and 3 interceptions.

Wentz isn’t the real offensive problem for the Eagles. Philadelphia hasn’t been able to find its groove running the ball. The club ranks 25th in rushing yards per game and the ground game only accounts for a little more than 27 percent of the team’s offensive yards.
